I started a new toon and she's working on Rifles..... All I can say is 
"wow" !!
"wow" !! Thank you Ranger Riflemen for inspiring me !!

For me, polearms have truly been the most fun melee profession ever, and it worked really well with ranger.
there was nothing like getting into the center of combat, use and area KD and watch them all fall down.
However, as i work up the rifles profession, i have been very impressed with the power and utility of it. It will be really hard to drop either profession..
right now, i am master pike/ tka 4004/ soon to be master rifleman. I am working my way up to jedi (and doing some faction pvp for fun) only to unlock my alt character. When the alt is unlocked, i am going back to master ranger, and with my Alt, ... i have no idea what im going to do yet.

when a Master showed me how he could blast voritors unbuffed before they could get to him, i doubled my grinding efforts because then i really new i had chosen the right path. and i wanted that speed SO bad! lol

Asa Master Ranger/Master Rifleman I think this is the best template for a Ranger. It just seems that Rangers should be experts with a rifle. Especially for hunting. Many times as a rifleman you don't need to be buffed. When I am buffed I tend to get lazy and just blast away. When not buffed I use my skills more like conceal shot, camo, terrain negotiation, etc.

You guys love baiting JB don't ya 
But got to say love the rifles. My daughter prefers the pistols, but together we are beginning to make a really good team. Me th Ranger Rifleman, she the pistol toting Master Creature Handler. Between the 2 of us we got all the bases coverred.

I am almost a master rifleman right now and it is fun, but at the same time, there just does not seem to be a lot strategy or interaction when using a rifle. I hunt unbuffed, and all I have to do is lay down and spam /concealshot and have my harvesting droid pick through the remains. So while it is a great template for the ranger, I might soon be looking toward another ranged profession to make hunting more exciting.

The only thing I envy with master rifle, is the lack of any KD shot. Pistols & Carbine have 'em, I think not adding them to rifles was a serious oversight..

I too made the switch to rifles. Currently 0001 rifleman and loving it.

Well, rifleman kind of has a KD effect. /FlurryShot2 will inflict dizzy, which causes NPC's to fall down a lot. While looting (at Canyon Corsair stronghold for agitator motor schematic for example), I find it useful for crowd control. However, it should be pointed out that dizzy creatures don't fall down.

I love Pistol Melee defense so much. Firstly-- it's one of the cooler looking specials. Pistol whip those durnis! Secondly, it works pretty well. My template is Master Doctor/Pistoleer 0021 (just have melee defense 1)/and smuggler 0302 (just slicing and spices). The other day, my mind buffs had run out and I was planning on logging, when some dude challenged me to a duel. The dude was TKM, and he was health and action buffed too. I said okay, whatever. So he KD's me instantly, and starts spamming unarmed hit 3. Now he's wearing full composite, all I have on is composite chest piece.
His mind goes down VERY quickly. I stand up, heal myself back to full with a Stim-E. I hit pistol melee defense 1. FIRST TIME, it hits and KD's him. A couple of double taps with a Geo pistol later, and I incapped him. TKM gets PWNED by bothan with next to no combat skills. Pistol Melee Defense FTW!!!!!

Yes, it was a lot of fun.... I think the combo Melee and Ranged worked very well. Hope to do more hunting trips with you. I felt a bad about "Busy" though, she didn't get the chanse to acquire a lot of TK XP (did she make it to 4/0/0/0 brawler that night?).
I'll get in touch with her when I log on with my TK girl, and I'll help her with some combat macro's... I saw that she waspressing F-keys because of the attack "pauses".... I'll have to advice her about the foods/drinks she'll need to get addicted too as well
