Thread: ranger city on naritus.
i don't have any plans set in stone at this point as far as what the purpose would be....other then that i think i ranger city would be neat.
our population on naritus has grown exponentially in the last year or so and many of us aren't associated with guilds (or don't feel any particular loyalty to our guild's city), so i figured we might try something like this.there are no advantages or disadvantages to having our own city other then that those of us who choose to live there are centrally located with other rangers. at this point, we only have about four people interested in declaring there and we need ten in order to have a city hall placed, so we won't be an official city yet, but i'm hoping that number will grow and we'll at least be able to get ourselves on the map.
potentially, i can see us setting up vendors and whatnot (given that one of us has a merchant) to sell resources, etc. or not. like i said, i've really only been toying with the idea so nothing is set in stone. that's actually part of the reason i opted to post here...to see if there was anymore interest and what, if any, ideas others had. or if there are individuals on other servers who have ranger cities, what types of things work for you?
i picked up politician last night and scouted out some areas on rori that have potential (most other planets are filled up). if you'd like to be in on at least receiving information about this, feel free to send me a mail in game or replying here.
I've got some ideas and have been thinking about this for some time now as well, so I'd love to work on it. Also, if NW gets its shuttle back and a few more residents, i'll be able to declare in Rangerville or whatever you're gonna name it

i'mthinking one of the first things we'll need to do is put some rules into place as to who can place a house in the city...as far as their template goes. i would prefer, at this point, that people at least have scout so it trully is a ranger-type city.

Circe' will probably be the one declaring, not Yoss. another Ranger who's not on the RIn is Ecex or something like that. We should contact him (he was unguilded last time i checked)

That's a good idea. One of the reasons our RIN really took off a few months back was the CH/BE/scout presence in addition to our own.

What's that I smell? Is it possible? Could it be... a CDEF duel?
I must admit, exploring the effects of the CU on a typical CDEF duel does sound like like a good way to kill an afternoon.
Anyway, as far as declaring goes, I can do it. Thorn Beach is one of the largest player cities on Naritus-- I'm sure it won't fall to pieces if I move elsewhere.
