Thread: Price List open for comments
Hi all,
I know there are many threads, but lately I tired hunting solo several orders for customers and it takes sooo long time to get a decent amount of hides/bones/meat of special sort that I am coming up with a pricelist thing for any new orders.
In general I can make def. more money by taking missions...
this is a general high quality list... not just collecting whatever available.. as of 20/09/2003
I deliver the orders and oders can be sent via Email ingame to me, and I answer if and when I can deliver.
Costs are same for hide/bone/meat:
No matter quality, sort and planet: 3 cr. / unit
Special sort (e.g. wooly): +2 cr. / unit
Each stat over 900: +5 cr. per stat / unit
Special planet: + 5 cr. / unit
For special planets please remind, that harv. resources also shift. Special planet order overall every quality you would like to see, as I can't change the planets resource pool :-)
Example:
Dathomir Insect Meat with 3 stats over 900 (if such a thing exist) would cost 25 cr. / unit
Leather Hide with OQ 900+ rest lower would cost 10 cr. / unit
I deliver in 1K stacks...

lol good luck, i cant get anyone to pay above 5k for anything and i sell in no less than 2k stacks. even the excellent quality stuff from higher planets i only get offers of 5cpu. i dont need the credits so i just tell em no thanks and store it in the bank till they start pheining for the good shiet.

Exactly Fafnir !
In addition with the other money makers (like missions) in game that are not that much time consuming there has something to change in minds of buyers.

On Bria, I was getting 20 credits a unit on stuff like Obahi (Yavinian Animal Bones) and Igorlorva (Corellian Wooley Hide).
Since bone/hide and meat is a lot harder to attain then the usual slew of resources, we can charge at the minimum 4 credits a unit I would think.
Anything better than decent, (OQ over 500) should be sold based on buyer.
I am currently getting 20 credits a unit for Hothide (Talusian Scaley Hide). Its over 900 OQ, and SR over 700.
I have noticed that Bria is not only crowded, but there are a lot of Armorsmiths. Lucky me I guess.
I have noticed it's smart to strike good deals with Armorsmiths so you can buy stuff at cost. I mean, his armor is only as good as the hide you provide them to make it. So, we should get deals.
Though, truth be told, I don't wear any armor. I am having a suit of Chitin made when I get enough of the Bull Sharnaff plates. It's 40% resist to Kinetics. Get the encumberance numbers down on a good Slice, and you're all set.
2 thoughts on pricing in general
first, the reason prices are down is because there are too many people out there selling resources dirt cheap. Generally this is because of people who dont rely on resources for their income. Or to an extent it is people who dont understand what they could/should be selling them for. There are a lot of scout dabblers out there that harvest just for the heck of it.... then go to the bazaar and put it up there for whatever. I know, I was one of them. While on my way to BH I was throwing EVERY resource i gathered up @ 1 or 2 cr/u. Wasnt till someone tipped me 5k and asked me to get him more of a specific type that I started to realize and pay attention to the quality of the resources.
Second, I find that I get the prices i want on the bazaar before i do in person. I've recently commanded 35cr/u of certain wooly on the baazar... and only 20 cr/u in person. Now the problem of course is the 3k limit on the baazar. Its worth it to me sometimes to take a pay cut to unload 15k worth of goods in one transaction. But if i have quality resources that i worked hard for. Up on the bazaar they go.
without actually forming a union, i think its a wise decision on all of parts to be strict with our pricing. Stick by what you think something is worth. and for the love of all that is good... never sell anything for less than 3cr/u.
I gotta agree. Had a doc offer to buy "all the herbivore you can provide" at .... 1.5cpu. Thanx a lot. I can run missions, not harvest and make a lot more money.
I like the idea of a work stoppage, but too many people have or can get scout and go harvest. Slower but still can do it.
I am stockpiling my stuff, and except for a couple of tried and true / thick and thin customers, the rest can go pound sand. When I see 10cpu prices for 20 units of leathery hide on the bazaar, and I have, I know that I am somehow pricing myself into the poor house.

I am coming up with a pricelist thing for any new orders.
Holy cow, you read my mind! I just got done barking at the scouts again over on their forum and was thinking that without some kind of guideline for people to follow, the problem of underpriced harvests is never going to end.
We need to firm up this guidelineand then constantly press it in the various forums. In fact, we should each be assigned a forum to continually press the issue -- including our buyers, armorsmiths, medics, etc. They should know that the guidelines are coming and be prepared. Better still, everytime we're at the bank, we should have a macro ready that shouts a webaddress where the new guidline can be found for other hunters. 90% of the people that play this game do not visit these boards.
But above all, in order for it to succeed, it must have a catchy name that people can easily refer to when discussing with other hunters and buyers. If we used your system, for example, we could call it The Four Point Guideline or something, for these reasons:
1) This way, we're not explaining ourselves over and over and over again when referring to it.
2) It reminds hunters that there are four pricing checks to make when figuring a price for a stack of hides.
3) It gives the issue a title that crosses boundaries and isreferred toconsistently from forum to forum, from PA to PA.
4) It makes it easy for hunters to explain their pricing ("Hey, I'm just following the Four Point Guideline...")
Every successful marketing plan starts with a simple way to sum up a group of ideas. For example, when I say The Golden Rule or Civil Rights, you know exactly what I'm talking about without me having to explain it to you.
We need to use this basic marketing tenet to our advantage. Let's finalize the guideline and turn it into An Issue.
I am totally with you jamatt.
The question still is if the prices I suggested seems good for you other rangers (what you WANT to see - not what you see right now) - or if you think they are too high or still too low...

We should debate it for a week or so before carving it in stone. And above all, it should be simple and easily remembered. For example, the 5cr per unit for each stat over 900 should be called '5 over 9'. Simplicity and ease of recallwill be the key to success here.
Well, looks like I charge alot more than the rest hehe.
I sell my meat for about 20c /unit for the high quality. I have so many orders so thats not a problem to get the price up. The one with the highest bid gets it!
If I do special orders I take out a travel fee aswell.
Stop selling your stuff cheap!
Im not interested in doing imperial missions all day to get money, so in order to get about the same amount of cash for a days work we need to raise our prices.

Well, my pricing method is similar but maybe a little more complex.
Take each stat and apply the following:
500+ ; +1
600+; +2
700+; +3
800+; +4
900+; +5
Total the values up and adjust again for OQ by: value*(OQ/1000)
Always adjust so the lowest is 1 credit per unit. (Some peeps would disagree here).
So Bone/Hide would range from 1 to 25 credits per unit and Meat 1 to 20 credits per unit.
So,
Endorian Leathery Hide (Worge)
DR 181
MA 952
OQ 838
SR 221
UT 932
Price would be 12 credits per unit.
