Instead of selling in bulk wholesale, sell your resources on the Bazaar in lots
That's what I do. I don't even bother trying to sell bulk or do contract stuff anymore. I'd rather burn it than give it away for what I've seen offered.
Just wanna say, U got to love the meat buissnes!
Just sold about 10k units for 200k gave him a discount hehe!!
And I just want to add that I could probably have gotten more, since it took me 10min to find this buyer!

This all sounds well and good but what server are you guys on? I am on Shadowfire and believe me I have yet to see prices over 3-5 cr/u on the bazaar. Its rediculous. I spend all day slaving for a fraction of what they sell the finished product for. I have taken to bartering trades for goods and services in exchange with customers (i.e. Pet Stims for a price of 3 Cr/U in meats) I am not kidding when I say I have 5 credits in the bank....5. I am going to take to running reb missions for credits to survive on.
When you guys make a statement on price, it would help to know your server so I know not to undercharge.
I play on Kauri. I really haven't had any problems selling my lots on the bazaar. Even the low quality stuff, like oc of 50 or less, will sell for 3cr per usually within a day. I end up taking in anywhere from 10-30k a day with stuff that I sell.
Just a tip for those of you who do sell in lots...If you find a high quality resource on a planet, when you split the resource into lots don't sell everything you have. Keep a few your inventory so when you go hunting again you aren't starting a new stack of the same resource with potentially lower stats than what you just put up for sale. Many of you may know this already but I thought I would share and maybe make harvesting higher quality stuff a little bit easier for all of you.
I am on Gorath.
I made yesterday a trip to Endor to get some more of the high value wooly just to find there where a resource shift and the wooly on Endor now is crap :-(
Stayed there to make some missions and made LOT more money than I would have selling 1-2K hides for 15cr./unit...
so to all out on severs where you dont get more than 3-5 cpu... just forget about it and do missions and support only some friends with needed material.

Gelotri,I'm on shadowfire too,and i've noticed that a lot of people haven't been considering quality for some reason. but I've also noticed that if you pay attention to it, and maybe try seeking out someone who's specifically looking for high quality stuff, you can sell for good prices. I sold ~950 quality bone on the bazaar at 10CR per unit, I made a note in the sale saying "*** Very High Quality!!!! 950!!!! ***" just to get their attention, it went within 5 minutes (must have been priced too low!). I have a doctor who's contracting me to get him some high quality avian and herbivore meat at minimum 10 CR per also.
I'm just starting to get into the wheeling and dealing of harvests, but it definitely looks like there's profit potential ![]()
If you're really that hard up for money Gelotri, contact me in game, I'm sure the doc wouldn't mind an additionalhunter gathering resources for him! I've often been busy with other things so I haven't been getting as much as he needs
Personally I think the prices are on the high side and would earn me some strange looks. At least on Sunrunner. I think your planetary premium is off. Composite is made with wooly. Any wooly. Why would someone pay an extra 5cpu because it's Lokian wooly? Similarly, if you are going to charge +5 cpu for each stat over 900 don't you think it reasonable to reduce your price by 5 cpu for each stat below say 200?
Also, not all stats are created equally. OQ is the most important, SR, UT and mall or second most important, and DE is only marginally so.
Also, novice armor smths need hide to grind on. I'll sell crap hides for 3 cpu when I'm so inclined, though I only do so in bulk. I got some decent leathery on Dathomir last night but I realize that this isn't going into the best armor so even though it would rate a higher price, I only charge 6 cpu in lots of 500 (3k on the bazaar). The bristley hide happens to be even better but I didn't feel like hunting for it.
That said, I generally do not harvest hide if it's crap if instead I can get herbivore or avian meat, in any quality. I will usually give it to the doctors in my PA since their heals, buffs and rezzes aren't cheap. Hunting for avian meat is about as unpleasant as it gets in SWG, at least for a meleer. Thank Yoda for chokus.
I have a scout on Shadowfire, and the difference on Shadowfire is that the galaxy is newer, and inflation isn't as high as it is on most of the other servers.
With that said, the prices are too low. I had 2K worth of the current Corellian Leathery Hide [MA 665 OQ 929 SR 781 UT 830], based on Jodowein's index, it is worth 8 c/u, UKJett's it's worth 15.7 c/u, I sent out an email, and an armorsmith responded that she had suppliers selling her this resource at 2.5 c/u!
Then, I've heard an aspiring doctor, paying 3 to 8 c/u for Avian or Herbivore meat.
From what I've been able to tell, is that on Shadowfire, we have plenty of Master Weaponsmiths, and like 2 or 3 Master Armorsmiths. I am running my mining business, so I have decent cash flow, and pick up some hide on the side, so I'm in no hurry to offload the hide for less than a reasonable price. I think it is important to know what stats your customers want, that way you can know how much it's worth.
Doctors want Herbivore and Avian Meat for their components. I'm 90% sure the stats they look for are OQ/PE in a 50/50 split.
Armorsmiths need good OQ, the armor effectiveness (resists) is based on OQ/SR and decay is based on OQ/UT (I might have SR and UT flip flopped), but the encumberance (the negatives on your stats) is based on OQ/MA (and it is rumored that higher MA gives you better chance for success in expiermentation)
Armorsmiths need the following (special hide) per suit of armor:
Chitin
215 Leathery Hide, 215 Scaley Hide, 105 Wooly Hide
Tantel
90 Avian Bone, 140 Bristley Hide
Ubese
240 Leathery Hide, 125 Wooly Hide
Padded
435 Leathery Hide, 435 Scaley Hide, 267 Wooly Hide
Composite
210 Wooly Hide
Advanced Segments:
Advanced Bone: 20 Rori Animal
Advanced Chitin: 23 Dantooine Animal Bone
Advanced Padded: 25 Yavinian Wooly Hide
Bio-Engineers also are in need of meat, and lots of it. I don't know much about that market. Chefs and Tailors also need different harvested resources, but the people who make the most money are the Armorsmiths and Doctors.
One last thing for Shadowfire residents, apparently their is a group of rangers/scouts who have formed some organization (Hunting Lodge) to help sell the resources. They may be either a good organization to help earn some money for your resources, or they may be the bastards ruining the market. I have read about them, the idea sounds good, but I don't know about the implementation, or how much business they get.
This is funny. I am running a thread on WS forum on how much they charge for weapons,(way to much) and how much we can sell our stuff for,(not enough for the effort). They say its supply and demand. everyone wants weapons and so they can sell them high, and since all of them do, you can't get anything else.
The problem with harvesting resources is that there are so many scouts out there, most of which are not primary professions, that the market is flooded with low Q resources. A lot of crafters buy it, because it's cheap, and or because they dont care about the Q for what they are using it for. Us rangers can get higher Q stuff, for the higher level crafters, but it's still a tough market. I have sold some 800OQ herb meat for 7cpu, but I was surprised. I sold 2k herb meat of 460OQ at 5cpu to same person, but I was surprised. It took me a long time, and putting myself at a lot of risk to get that much. By that it should have been sold for more.
We as Rangers, need to ALL sell our good harvested resources for way more then we do. If that's all people have to buy for on the HQ stuff, they will have to buy it. Just like the WS do. I am very surprised someone said they got 20cpu, that's insane. You should have gotten that much, I'm just shocked someone paid that much.
