just wanted your opionion on this... i was on rori yesterday and ran into an overt rebel under attack by a pack of tusk cats... i was gonna sit back and watch him die until i saw he was a novice ranger... so i went and helped him... i am covert but i told him i was imp... thought about killing him until he thanked me and we traded some skills... so i ask you this question: Am i a Bad Imp for doing this? or have you guys done the same before?

I have reported you to Lord Vader your cowardice has been noted in the field of battle....just kidding I would never kill another ranger unless it was me or him in a PvP battle. I am not sure how you would have killed him though being covert.

I am a rebel who was helped by an Imp (I assume, because he was showing blue on the radar). Although he was out of stims (I was incapped) he stood byme until I got back up. I then trained him in 3 or 4 skills, and we went on our seperate ways. Ranger first....faction second, I guess

Unless its A fellow ranger or Imp, they can get db'ed or incapped and I have no problems walking right by.

Why, because too many times I've risked my butt to help someone out.
Some one gets jumped by maulers or capper soliders laying there just getting capped as I walk by.
SO I fire at the mauler to prevent a db. As I'm running around like a sugared up kid on easter. The other "Player" gets up heals themselves as now another mauler warps on my melon. I spam peace , trip on a chuba and get incapped

Maulers are now 60m and closing, about 20m from "other player" sits there and watchs me get db'ed, I don't clone and soon as he/she see my corpse they get up and leave.

Now once or twice I wouldn't mind if this happened to me. but if it not the jerk with a plains hunter on his arse run straight at my camp
Its the ungrateful players that don't even say thanks, or even give you a clue that they see your character etc. OR TRAIN ME NOW, RUN TO KAADRAA i need TRAINING NOW. /ignore

Training, if they can tell me and ask then sure But I'm not running back to town 5km, meet 1/2 way most likely

The game has its ups and downs.
Hmm I might just move to Rori or Dant

You seem to be a good hearted person. Perhaps the Alliance is better suited to your personality. No faction propaganda here. I belive that if it is in your nature to help others, then roll playing an Imp might not be for you. Switch side and give it a try, if you don't like it switch back. It's not like anybody is holding your family hostage in the basement making you play on a certain side.

In the role playing sense:

Yes, you are a bad imp. You are a good ranger!

But honestly... the Empire is the dominant government and I'm sure they have very nice spin doctors working for them. I wouldn't say that every imp is mean, evil, or cruel. You sound like a misguided imp to me.

The brainwashing runs deep, my friend. Have a seat and be prepared to be shocked. The Empire isn't what you think it is....

Hay rangers always stick together unless as was said your in a PvP situation and its you or him/her. Hay Vader gave Luke chances even though he "justified" it each time until he was converted.

The fact that you are an imp does not make you or turn you into an evil person. You could be an Imp for many reasons. After all being a reb does not automatically make you good. How can a blood thisrty reb be good? It all depends on your ideals. Perhaps you believe that the Empire is the way to go because they bring order to the galaxy and you feel like the rebels are a bunch of anarchists. Who knows.

For example soldiers sometimes have to follow orders and commit acts that in the eyes of the regular citizen seem like atrocities. The truth is that that is how sometimes wars are won.

The way I see it you are an honorable warrior, you helped someone in need. So what if he is from an opossite faction. Perhaps next time you meet you will kill him in a PvP battle, or perhaps maybe next time you two meet he will be the one saving your hide. Stranger things happen in war.

Where was the honor in watching him die to some beast (at least you probably got some xp). Next time you help someone from a diferent faction and feel a guilty about helping him, take 2 things into consideration: 1. Tell him he owes you one or 2. Challenge him to an honorable duel. Tell him that you saved his hide and in return you will duel him to see if he was worthy of such an honor.

Anyways just some thoughts of how i see it.

Being an Imperial does not necesarily imply that you are evil. Just dont let the emperor know you let him live, or you will have a nice little duel with Lord Vader.

There is a special bond between creatures that have chewed the same dirt! As a soldier myself I give any soldier the beneifit of the douht. As a follow ranger that has camped the camp and trapped the traps like I am or have they deserve the respect I give myself for this great Profession. This respect pass all race or political lines. If they want to push the point than slap leather and start the dance!

Saving a follow Ranger from incapped or a DB should be a un-written rule!

PS. Any Ranger that pop a camp an share a fewbeersdoesn't have a hair on his......

Great! thanks for the input everyone... it is good to see that us rangers like to help each other out when in trouble, no matter what faction borders they may be... as for the dueling with Lord Vader when he finds out.... i think im in trouble.

You passed up a wonderful opportunity to harvest 10 - 12 units of Rebel meat, bone or hide.

Meh.

It's just wrong to attack another Ranger, it's against the 'code'.
