Guys,

I have to agree - I took a lot of crap from some of my PA members who making them wait ten minutes to start a hunt because I was waiting for a Ranger to come to me for training. He turned out to be a Rebel, and the crap intensified.

But I don't care, because to me it will always be Rangers first, Imperials second. I also havea soft spot in my heart for training Master Scouts, too.

Like I have said many times, the woods and those nasty critters are the real enemy. If you are deep in the woods I feel as a Ranger you try to help out. I used to just charge in and help.

Now I hold back because sometime the person is actually doing ok but just getting beat up real bad. So I always ask if they need the help if they say no I move on but I am still looking a little just in case.

I agree with the people saying that is the "code" to help out people. If you are a Ranger and you don't do it then maybe you should switch profession. I would also like to add to Delta comments. You did the right thing. If your guild didn't like it tell them this, "That is life baby"

I have no problems helping people out in trouble, but what realy get to me is people who are getting agroed who run right through your camp expecting to be helped sometimes and the result is if you are not paying attention the agro turns to you and most often DBs you too. What can you say apart from "errr, thanks".

Ok i can accept that he/she may have tried there luck to get me to help them, but im sitting im my high tech with my sniper title on in clear view crafting etc, surley everyone realises the penalty riflemen get at malee? One hit and im incapped this realy does get to me, happens alot on lok and dath.

Ivello,
heres a little story from my experience....
As a rebel ranger (4.3.4.4.) pistoleer (1.1.1.3) I feel reasonably comfortable going out to the badlands on any planet. One time on dathomir and overt myself, i saw a lone (overt) imperial being chased by a nightsister and 2 baz nitches. I noticed that this player was a ranger so, without question....I threw adhesive meshes on the baz nitches and drew the nightsister away... truth be told, he had already did a good job on injuring these creatures so I didnt have to do too much. I dispatched the nightsister and did the rescue on him just as he incapped. I drew the baz away crippling them with my guns and traps...I ran to the imp and put a camp on top of him to speed up his recovery rate. (i dont know if that works or not but hey, it may help) he was still down for the count and i called my neutral friend to come over and trade some meds and stims, so the imp could heal up when he awoke. When he did come to, he thanked me and we agreed that rangers first and faction second. We talked for a while and split.

Later that day while still on dathomir, we saw each other in the outpost and dueled. I killed him, but the bleed shot he had on me incapped me, he cloned and finished me off. All within what i would call good clean fun.

I will always help another ranger no matter what..

Rangers First, Faction Second.....

1. Always help a fellow ranger.

2. Always help a fellow ranger, even if your faction friends oppose it.

3. If in doubt, go back to # 1.

I got to admit as an Imperial Master Ranger, I would find it incredibly hard to gun down an overt Rebel Ranger out in the wilds especially on the 'advanced' planets. I have however killed a few fellow rangers in PvP without hesitation nearer to cities.

Wow, most excellent ethical question !

Which takes priority Profession or Allegiance?

I believe the GCW is a bit more than just Faction even though they call it that.

Whether Jabba's minions like you is more of a faction.

My own opinion is I would probably select Allegiance over Profession. It is war after all.

I would kill the critter and and then attack the player and cap but maybe not db, since it would not be a honorable kill.

Since my Ranger is neutral he would help either but he would reflect a moment on whether he should or not since he is anti-Rebel and Anti- Empire. But he would help.

He feels the GCW is all about politics and is bad for hunting by generally damaging the environment and driving away the prey of Rangers.

So yes you are a bad Imp and all the Rebs are bad Rebs too ! lol

Sorry, faction takes presidence for me for any type of training. But, I will turn an imp ranger down honorably and with an apology.

But honestly... the Empire is the dominant government and I'm sure they have very nice spin doctors working for them. I wouldn't say that every imp is mean, evil, or cruel. You sound like a misguided imp to me.

The brainwashing runs deep, my friend. Have a seat and be prepared to be shocked. The Empire isn't what you think it is....

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

Said this someplace else - But it bears repeating -

After being hosed by an Imperial ranger, no names, but I trained him thru Master Scout andhe went up Camping faster than I andwouldn't train me because I am a Rebel...

After being DB'd in the freaking Medcenter because I was unknowingly TEF'd for doing First Aid (secondary skill, was there for the xp, was healing anyone and everyone) on a guy involved in a fight with the Imp shooter....

After being called all kinds of names as I lay incapped after a bug made me TEF to one of 15 Imps camped outside the Theed starport (tho the dude whose pets shot me did apologize and he at least was civil and apologized, nice guy actually)...

With few exceptions, I am refusing training for one entire mixed guild (WoTG) and most Imps.

There are several Ranger Imps I hunt with and train and sit in their camps and heal. Politics never come up, we are all covert, we hunt for fun and XP. Come a battle, we are not hard core RP'ers, so who cares, its FP. Go and kill some NPCs and get more later.
