Thread: Horn- does it exist?

Recently a question has come up among armorsmiths regarding this rare and unusual resource. Specifically, does it exist in quantities larger than, say, 5? Knowing that you folks are specialists in obtaining the unobtainable and tracking the untrackable, I figured you would know better than anyone. Can horn be harvested in any measurable quantities? Or is only obtainable in extremely small quantities as a rare drop?

I am not sure if horn still exists...it is not harvestable to the best of my knowledge. I think itis a loot drop that maybe comes from lairs? I acquired a 1 unit sample from somewhere many, many, many, many moons ago...
Can any else help out our fine Armorsmith Corr?

Ooooohhhhh, I think I have like 11 units of it somewhere....got it a LOOOOOOOOOOOng time ago and don't remember how. I will look for ya.
Also thinking about taking Pip to master ranger, will let ya know if I find any working up there.

I've gotten several units of horn off of Kunga's on Dantooine. Since i knew of no schematic that used them i deleted it. Never seemed a good reason to keep it. But it was kunga loot that much i remember. I also got it once off of lok. And i belive it was an NPC that dropped it then to.

I find it regularly in debris piles and dungeon based sealed containers - I don't believe it's a harvest resource, but just one of the high end loot items one can find after spending hours adventuring...

Yep, it's for the new wookie armor.
So how long would it take to acquire, say, 100 units of Dant horn under the current conditions? (that's what's required for the four pieces of one of the two new wookie armors).

My guess is it would take a loooong while.
The problem for AS is: does it have to be the same type of horn, since there are different horns that have quality and such...if it has to be of the same type, this would be a large problem since to get that much of the same type would take a very dedicated person

yes, it has to be the same type of horn. I believe the schematics call for 40 (chest) 30 (leggings) and 20 (each bracer)

well maybe they'll change the rules, since to mass-produce a set of the new wookie armor would take.....say forever???

I agree Phen'ix id guess it spawns more often as well. Since I dont think its supposed to be that rare.

I get horn out of dungeons occasionaly.So far I've only seen it come one at a time.Once I looted something like 6 horns out of one dungeon.
Are you serious,Wookie armor uses horn.I can see this not being a good thing unless they increase the drop rate...hugely increase the rate.
Basicaly to answer your question,as far as I've seen,horn is a rare loot drop,mainly from mag-seal containers,and only drops one at a time.
