oh god... i remember the last time i saw and deleted some of this stuff... me and my friends joked "i bet it'll be used in the next wookiee armor... har har"...
/sigh... i've gotten my hands on probably 20 units in the entire time i've played... it's a lootable item, but most of what i've found was in containers in caves...
my guess, they will increase the ease of getting horn... they have to... even if it won't beharvestable...

You would be lucky to see 10 for a months work. 100 is possible, if you loose your sanity (again, in a month).

Does anyone at SOE actually have a clue about this game? "40 units of dantooine horn" as part of a schematic doesn't sound like it tbh :/.

I am not sure if horn still exists...it is not harvestable to the best of my knowledge
As you said im not sure, but in the past ive looted horn from mag seal containers AND as a loot part from a creature although only ever once and i cant remember the beast.
Ill get my ass online and head to corellia some time today searching for you.

Wow I have never even heard of, let alone gotten a horn. It for sure is not a harvestable item. That right there will answer your main question. If it's not harvestable, then its loot, or lair search. And both of those types of things are low quantity.
Considering I have a harvest macro with /loot in it from my scout days, and have still never seen a horn after hunting on every planet, not sure it's a common loot if one at all. Might be one of those rare loots like Albetross feather or something.
I don't do much lair searching, only for eggs for a special request. So can't say if it comes that way.
Might I ask what is calling for a horn? Is it an armor peace? I'm very curious now as to what it is used for.

I have found 'Horn' in the Pygmy Torton Cave on Rori, quite recently. I picked up about5 units in total.

Sorry, but if this is what is required, and it is only a rare loot/search/container then you will hardly ever, if ever, get it. If these items even if in loot tables, rotate type like harvestables, then there will not be enough time between spawns, to get that many of same type. But even if it doesn't rotate type, just needs to be Dantooine, 100 units is going to be a lot.
If this is what is going to be required for the new armor, and you need that much then I suggest getting them to change how to obtain it. Or get them to lower the quantity needed. Again, considering I hunt all the time, and have done so on all the planets, a lot on Dant, and never seen a bone, it's to rare. Unless they want the new armor to be uber rare.

I picked up a couple of units of rorian horn in the bark mite cave poi on monday night. Not sure if i got it from a container or a mob.

Horn has been changed to a more reasonable resource. We'll do an update later today with this change.
