Here is an idea to get the economy down and turn scout and ranger in to something for groups.

First off tone down the payout for missions. For every 100 difficulty level mission the pay will be $5,000. For 200 difficulty mission the pay will be $15000. 300 level missions pay will be $100,000 and for 400 level missions $500,000. That is the cap for that lv misisons. So anything under 100 lv mission would be scaled to the right amount.

Now with the mission levels make it so that every class other then scout/ranger is caped at 200 level missions. Now in scout every box has a plus4 to level difficulty novice has 2 and master is 4. Rangers get a 20 at novice and 30 at master, all other boxes have plus 5. That is plus 200 with scout and master ranger to difficulty level.

This also lets u get more then 2 missions. Master scout u can add 3 more missions to your total number of missions making it so u can take up to 5 missions that equal 270 level. The missions add up, so if u take 2 level 100 missions and one 70 mission u cant take any more missions. Master ranger can take a total of 10 missions all together. This would kinda be like how ch is with pets. They cant call out any pets over there pet lv to call. This would make rangers a bit more helpfull in groupd to beable to gake higher level missions and more missions.

Now with the higher level missions they are alot hard to take on. Like enraged rancors there are 25-30 around the nest and spawn out 10 at a time. This could be a lv 300 mission.

Just a rough idea watching tv lol. Work with the idea if u think it sounds good, hope it makes sence lol.

Doesn't make sense, and would kill the economy.

If you didn't notice, mission level is determined by your weapons rating with the weapon you are holding. Masters get higher missions. Master Ranger/Scout with no weapons quals get crap - so in essense what you are suggesting is a complete overhaul of the mission terminals. That is not going to happen.

I make a majority of my money running missions, either for harvest or for loot. Guildies and I solo group and do our thing. Granted, we are not getting insane missions on Talus, but we can do an 11k mission set in less than 15 minutes. Your suggestion just killed my main source of credits. Artisans are not dropping their prices because the prices on missions just went down - quite the contrary, as I would now have to charge more for resources to make up for the lost mission money, prices would go up.

The part of about Rangers being able to get more missions is not bad. We should get some perks at master level. I would even settle for 4.

Quit watching TV, it will rot your brain, lol.

An interesting idea, to be sure, but how exactly will this help the game economy?

I also fail to see how this will cool the economy. You're diminishing the main cash inflow into the system. If you lower it by 20% then after a few wobbles most if not all prices will be down by 20% too. You willget 800k on astack of avian instead of 1 million so you will just reach a new equilibrium. The only ones benefitting would be the people that have millions now, their money increases in value without doing anything.

An increased harvesting mod for scout/rangers would do more good. Greater flow of creature resources will lower cpu. A lower cpu on creature resources will lower prices on a wide variety of items, giving people more time to realise that the game lacks in pvp/content now they don't have to mission grind to keep their gear in good condition.

Well as the devs have said the economy is kinda out of wack. Right now players can make a million doing missions on dath in 2-3 hours. This the devs dont like as the players can jack up the market on this. Weapons, loot, armor, all things that because they can make alot in a short time. I have 70 million and i never had to leave the house. It would bring the market down fast in the short tirm and start to bring people back to groups to get higher missions.

If u get a few missions with rangers at 400 dif that is 500k a missions and yes it takes u 20-30 mins to do with 4-5 people that is still 100k in 30 mins. This i would think is better to add to scout/ranger and not just one more money sink like holocrons and other things. If u look at other games like ff eq the missions are not jacked up. The markets are a bit lower. With out the combat and rcw revamps comming for a good year now, we are not going to need groups again. This would bring people back to groups as the devs want us to hunt. They have kinda never liked the solo thing. It was just a rought idea that would make scout/ranger a little bit more of a point.

Only time I heard the devs say the economy was out of whack was in a friday feature couple months back. This was due to a credit duping bug they had already squashed at the time and were running the economy at a slight deficit to get those duped credits out. If you want to see a real out of whack economy you'll need to wait for the Combat Revamp without harvesting modifiers, then creature resources will be harder to harvest, higher cpu, higher buff/armor prices but lower income.

Well not really. If rangres get the boost for higher harvesting the price will come down on cpu. If we can harvest 50% more then we can now. Also the combat revamp is not comming. It will be a year befor the combat revamp. They said they are not going to start the combat or gcw revamp untill after jtl hits the store and that will be around nov i'm sure for a x-mas target. Also they wont start the combat revamp as they will want to spend 2-3 months making sure that jls works and is not filled with 1000 bugs then they will start work on the combat revamp that will take 4 months of coding and it will be this time next year when combat revamp hits.

After reading this...

I think there is a good idea here:

However, the main issue that i think needs to be adressed is that Rangers have no inherent combat ability to warrant higher level missions.
This is my main critique. I would imagine that for every box in a combat box you have (tkm/ master rifle) your mission level increases. However, the trade off is that at novice ranger, we get 3 mission slots, and at master ranger, we get 4 misson slots.

I think that that would allow us to make more money, and be more useful in a group.

I pray that after all the combat stuff if "balanced" that we are no longer seeing solo groups. That is a majority of what's screwing up the economy. People should not be able to solo level 100 missions, even with buffs and armor. What's the point of grouping then? Of course one of the problems with the above example is that most master rangers can't do this. Only the masters of a melee profession had a chance at this kind of thing. You have to spend a lot of points on combat to able to do this.

If you do the above, then it will have two effects. One less "new" money coming into the economy from missions, because all the people doing it now, won't be able to handle as high missions solo any more. And because of that, won't be able to bring in as much resources anymore. Which in turn should bring more of the organic resource market to scouts and rangers who want to do it for a living. As opposed to those who just have some scout and a lot of combat and do it for some money.

Now lets address the SOLO MISSION thing first. THAT SHOULD BE NERFED!! You cant tell me the SOE intended for some of these things to be done that way. We have all WARPED the system to EXPLOIT it and make more money.

Which by SOE allowing this to go on has broken down the COMBAT STRUCTURE!!

ie hunting GDK's I watched a TKA solo one..never should happen, it would be like me whopping um Mike Tyson's butt.

But my guild went out and made it fun. We took a well balanced squad(needed a squad leader)and alot of fun! DOC's healing everyone an occasional REZ.

I like the idea of having a bonus to well balanced groups. Maybe a random uber loot or we have talked about special theme parks. There should be a bonus for well thought out groups. Maybe not put all the bonus on MR, but its a neat idea.

They could even make it a % like when a squad leader is in your group!

Well if u look right now the missions are just as avg as they are now in game. If u notice u have to get a group to even get enraged rancor missions. Then the person just leaves the group. The dev never wanted 40k missions just for one person it was made for 3-5 people. So do the math 40k to 4 people is 10k a person. Yes for people that want to solo missions they wont get the reward of hunting with rangers and scouts to get better missions. Sorry but if we could get a lv 400 mission say on tat u could get a mission for a kryat, lok u could get missions for kimos, dath nightsister missions and so on. But there not so easy as just run up and kill them get your money and run back. A lv 400 mission u have to fight 40 night sisters, 4 kryats, 6-7 kimos then the respawn. Then u get 500-750ksplit 5-10 ways is about 50-100k if they are 500k. Yes they might take a bit longer but one they wont be fun again to hunt in groups, also it would bring the market back to wear it use to be. Sorry but all u crafters like to run the market up with your uber crafted armor and your uber weapons and uber loot. I remember when crafters would sell things for cheap, arch would sell heavy harvesters for 40k and fusions for 30k, armorsmiths sold weapons for 5-20k. Now u have weaponsmiths that sell weapons for 100k to 1 million. The reason we all have money. Before u go and say i'm broke sorry i have 70 million so it is not that i want to get uber weapons. The players broke the system for the money.

True, this will destroy the economy. The player run economy is so fragile on the basis that all combat players have the potential to make insane amounts of money. If that goes - the whole thing goes out of wack. Weapons, armour, structures, buffs, everything.

I like the idea of promoting Rangers and Squad Leaders - but there must be a way aside totally revamping the main source of income in the economy.

Wow, relax. lol.

OK just curious here, why are solutions always brainstormed after the fact, aka FS slot opened people that holocron away then when it opens cry that getting FS spots is too easy and it should be changed...aka having 70 million credits and then proposing changes to the economy so its harder for other's to get money.

We don't care you have a lot of credits. Why tell us? Oh thats right to clarify you dont want inflation to decrease and items to come down just so you can afford stuff, but that you have all this money and its the point your trying to make, that should be the focus. I'm sorry, I'm a cynic. The economy apperantly was not a problem, or the means to make money either, when you had a 100 credits, but now that you got 70 million and climbing, its becoming an issue?

Have you ever been to Japan? Dealt with the Yen? High credits earned just means high prices. Weapons, armor, vehicles, etc. upto a million or more? So what? it equals what you are making (well most people) anyhow. Changing the economy will mean its harder to make money, the prices will stay the same,O! But the rich have more money than they'll ever need still. If anything letting us know your credits was a mistake, it clarifies things to me.

BTW, I have never worn armor. But I can still complete two 32k missions on Dant in 5-10 minutes, with only one combat profession mastered, since i am a master ranger to boot. Yes, while I can agree this is ridiculous, I never seem to have enough for comp armor, hell even good stun armor, oh sure I can grind all day long and afford it, but is that really fun to you? Not me. If it is, let's talk. You grind out high paying missions all day long, then post the economy is out of whack? okie dokie.

Where does my money go? The time? Lol looking for a live entertainer in Coronet just so I can tip them 10k for healing me up. I will bet most people have never come close to that kind of generosity. You make 40k on dath in 5-10 minutes? But you can't afford 10k to someone whom doesn't make anywhere near that in 5 hours? Really, 70 million? You got to start doling out some of those credits to other's, go shopping! rofl. Hell go buy 10 of your closest friends some AV-21's =P. You do and still have all that? Time to unplug for awhile then =).
