No need to aplogy, this thread can't possibly become TOO long. It needs every post it can get UNTIL Ranger counts towards health!!!

This is really outrageous!
No Rangers to harvest stuff -> no resources for AS/Docs -> no combat for other people (nor for us)
That's how I see it!

jesooz... how is this a travesty??? since Rangers' roles haven't even been readjusted, and we know next to nothing about our skills, or the points associated to it, how do you figure that we're not going to eventually be included in this new system of health increases??

over-reaction, this is all I see here. be patient, unless the Devs come out ans specifically say that no other classes of profs will have health boosting skill boxes, I think we should wait a bit before inundating Owen with as many posts as possible.

I say we all keep calm and wait to see what develops in the next few weeks.

Yeah, let me get this straight... Rangers hunt to live, but apparently (according to the devs...) don't engage in COMBAT to do it... so, how are we killing the massive amounts of critters needed for scout and Ranger XP?

I think it's ridiculous that Rangers aren't considered a combat class, but Doctors and CH's are. (I could go on about that for hours, but there's another thread for that...) And then this on top of it... so, from the sounds of what we hear now, if you're a Ranger, you won't have enough skill points to max health, but you still have to kill critters that give a "combat class" player problems. So, um, do the devs hate Rangers and are trying to get rid of them? What gives?

(and I suppose this isn't the place to say that Ranger traps and cammo should work against NPC's and players...)

We have a few weeks ahead of us to convince them that ranger is a combat class. I have no worries that we won't be heard. Be patient and let Owen be our voice.

haven't had a chance to check yet, but does he state outright that ranger skill boxes won't contribute to health pools?...

he says doctor and combat medic, in your quote... and since i didn't see anything in the skill trees that implied a health bonus last time i checked, i assumed it was tied in with armor certifications (basically, anything that gets armor mitigations spread through the tree will get more health)... this would include CHs and rangers, but not scouts and medics...

i dunno what the case is... just don't want a riot over something that might have been a case of a developer not speaking in legalese...

we don't have access to elite professions yet, do we?...

I think this is one of the problems, we have been calm (we don't cry like the other professions) but the fact is, a ranger can't be a ranger without combat. If we don't make the devs see that then we will be passed over to make things easier for their programers, we have to make then understand and the only way to do that is to push as hard as we can and it will take all of us since we are the few. We can do it, We have to do it. Lets make them wish they never ignored rangers in the first place.

This is total 100% bull.

We get tagged spending the most SP to gain a master, then get told it doesn't count towards health.

I am this close to dropping the game.

You would think that the ranger profession would have had a weapons cert and their health raised after spending that much sp. Isnt this going to be the profession with the most sp cost now. From what Ive read squad leader got a pistol cert lol.

Well, your health is based on your combat rating, and your combat rating is based on your combat skills. Since we know we aren't getting combat skills, they would have to institue a generic combat rating to increase our health. That would make our con system be wrong all the time (it would make us look more powerful than we will be).

BUT, this is, indeed, still up in the air until the devs state otherwise, or the CU goes live.

Bite me Owen, I was typing my message in the Corr forum and had to edit out the profanity.

I would really like to teach Tiggs how to solo a Rancor.

Or until our revamp hits and our traps and hunting skills start to be treated as combat related skills. Personally I think they should make the Hunting and Trapping skills count towards our Combat Level, even if they produce a false con so long as it gets fixed with the revamp.
