Hello Im not sure how to state that but here are the facts:

My character master brawler, master sword, tka at 4004, medic 2040 and scout 1040

buffed, without any piece of armor, solo

managed to kill approximatelly 117 or so enraged (a few bulls) rancors in 1 hour and 41 minutes (actually a bit less since I started to time right when the doc buffed me at coronet)

Each enraged had either 399, or 400 leather piece.

that was around 47,000 leather units.

I was killing non stop, quicklyand carelessy, since I can tank several of them at once

So here is the question:

Can a master ranger get resources faster than what I accomplished today? (soloing)

Yes or No? (Im considering go for ranger but only if its worth it)

Thanks in advance,

D.

I am not sure we can get that much hide solo. We have no combat skills under our profession and to get a combat profession good enough to take down a Rancor, we woul not have much room for the supporting skills you have (no room for med skills, etc). Theoretically, If I had buffs and my current skills (Master Ranger, Master TKA) I can do ok, but I don't last long against Rancors unless a Doctor is near. But since you brought this up, I may have to try....

Considering the combat skills you would have to surrender in order to get Ranger 0040, which would only supply a slight boost, I highly doubt it.

Thank you for demonstrating so well what many Rangers have been complaining about regarding our design. The ultimate "creature hunter" is a combat profession with a bit of scout, not the reverse. I don't think we could have come up with a better example.

Solo. I might be able to do exactly what you did plus our small percentage more. But I don't do much solo hunting because of how the group harvesting works. It makes more sense to hunt as a group.

Our group which consisted of 2 master rangers and a non-rangeror so was able to hunt for 150k bone in less than 6 hours off Rancors. Now we also did not rush our hunt and we were helping a MBE get DNA samples off some mutants with our camo kits. So who knows how fast we could have actually accomplished it if we did hunt quick.

In any case, your decision to become a ranger relies more on your play style. Do you want to rp a Ranger? We are useless in many respects for the SWG community. But we do have our own feel and see a bright future ahead of us. Maybe ranger later if you like your current template?

We will gladly take you as a ranger but have no convincing arguement other than if you want to be a ranger or not(yes we can make you rich of organics, but you can do that as a scout too really).

If your on Eclipse, then we would love to have you hunt with us either way. Look for the chat channel RIN or send me a tell.

Team of 3 on Dath, about 3.5 hours (it was spread across 2 nights), 147k bone. The contract was 150k, but they didn't seem to mind . We were harvesting bone and meat at the time, it could have been more (think we got 43k Carnivore at the same time).

Oooops yep see my stats were way off. I was being kind with my numbers. But Frederick was right! Bones and meat!

Anyways like I said. All a state of mind of how you want to play. Good Luck!

Wow!

I couldn't do that solo (Master Brawler/TKM/Ranger 0,0,3,0).

Hi, the answer is yes, easily.

You got 47k, add at least another 25% to that, maybe more, as the game rounds numbers oddly sometimes.

I was getting 250 hides per rancor, grouped. A master ranger was so vert happy she was getting 170. I am pulling 80 units more per rancor, grouped.

Not gonna tell ya what to drop, but if you want to seriously harvest, go Ranger.

If you want a greater harvest per creature, drop something and get ranger. However, doing so would hinder your combat ability to the point where you would not be able to solo as safely or quickly. Therefore, you would end up with less in the end.

Solo Master Ranger? Nope. No way in hell. Skill points are wasted on too much that doesn't help kill things as quickly as you were and that harvesting bonus we get isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I'm glad there are still some people that find the combat system fun, especially with the conditions your given: 1 hour 40mins...congrats...I can barely stand the 10 second eye sore of the combat queue when i get aggroed on my speeder(I had to turn off the sound. I kept hearing the combat music when i wasn't even playing the game...lol). And it doesn't sound like it was much of a challenge either, which I find "fun" diminishing. Only thing left in combat is the groups...lol
