How about those "Crackdown" scans in the wilderness? Shouldn't the use of Camo kits provide a bonus against this?

Yes, they should (at least under the Outdoorsman proposal).

I will add the element to the SotP.

A smart idea that will most likey fall on deaf ears.

Would be great to have a use to our camo kits in the GCW esecially if it reduced our chances of being scanned in the first place like you said. To give us the chance that probots would not see us is a brillaint idea

How about:

1. > The chances of a probot initiating a scan is related to the camo level ofthat person

Or

2. > The chances of a probot initiating a scan is related the camo level of the player if using camo

The first suggestion would make this ability an 'always on' ability that wouldnt require us to be wearing camo and would limit the abilty to rangers only and increase in effectiveness as the level of the rangerincreases.

The second suggestion however would enable non-Rangers who have been camo'd by a ranger to have this ability which would increases its uses and value within groups. Would perhaps give us an alternative income source to camo groups and thus a greater role in group hunts.

**edit** straight they should, Smugglers may get bonuses everywhere(which is good, since, it gives them the ability to actualyl smuggle now), but Rangers should at least get somebonuses to evade the patrols in the wilderness, since it makes sense, and would make Camo kits more useful. And I camo should be usable against NPCs anyways...

Either way works for me.

I just know it will be a pain in therear to be out hunting and watch a probot pop next to me and a smuggler in the woods. The smuggler gets a "bye" and I get tagged even if cammoed. That would make sense in a city, but not in the wild.

The empire is gonna be spending a lot of time re-filling their ranks with new probots and ST's if they decide to harass me in the wilderness.

Yeah wilderness survival and combat should be our domain. The wilderness is our back yard, you enter at your own risk. Be it a droid, animal, creature or player, you are in the domain of the ranger and he/she should have abilities that make them more effective in the wilderness than any other player template in the game.

This would give us a realy involvingrole in the GCW.

Please Give us the oportunity to help the faction we chooseother than raising our weapons. We are rangers, masters of the hunt, at home in the wilderness and unmatched in using the environment to our advantage, give us someway to express this vision within the GCW.

You know, I'm starting to think that we will have to uncharactoristicaly whine our way to this one, there is a blerb about Smugglers and the wilderness... excuse me but it seems they forgot that someone else was out in that wilderness already... US.

  • They took away our protection from NPC'sand I want it back.

  • They took away any reason to camp unless the whole party is about dead. Correction, you can pull out a med droid, nm about the dead part too...

  • I fear what else they are taking away, concidering they think of us as a "Creature Feature" and not anything else... like the stealth unit in about half the RPG's I have ever played... we should not be the other CH (creature harvestor) only.

Tell me again, you vets of EQ, how the Ranger class went there... and that is another point, because of the name must they think of us as the EQ Ranger? Would a seeker droid find them too?

Also, I'm starting to loose Rangers to the "I want to try new things" crowd. I want them back too

It's a great point. Smuglers can do their thing in the city, and we can do our thing in the wilderness... it fits like a glove.

I'm sure smuglers will get upset over the notion... but... well... can't make everyone happy.

Wow, this is a great idea. It seems so obvious, and it would really give us a role.

Yes, maybe we should yell and cry and scream to be heard... it seems to bethe only way to get any attention. The majority of rangers I've encountered are intelligent, civil and respectful, and our reward is to be continually stepped on as our abilities are systematically rendered useless. Meanwhile certain other professions that do nothing but complain get things made easier on them.....

yea I thought of that the other day myself. But didn't bother posting the idea, cause I don't think it will ever get put in. Call me a pesimest on that, I guess.

To bad the current camo wont do anything unless you're overt or TEF. Then it will act as normal against agro NPC. And it does work too. I used it to get the last part of ACT 2 done for the rebels. Walked right past some ST when I was TEF.
