I know for a fact that the range on my Area Track increased as I went up the tree. IT did not start out at 500m. It was more like 250, then 325, then 500, or something like that.

Well then... I will take that as a challenge.

  • I will have to test it out tonight on TC.

Honestly 500m is garbage. I wish it could be more like 1km, but that will never happen. I always get asked in guild if i can area track for imps coming our way. I say you can probibly see as far as i can track. I just cant feel like any kind of help with 500m.

500m is more than enough for my purposes. I'd just like for it to work consistently, there are nights that I swear it is despawning the creatures.... Anyways yes while going through the tree it seemed to extend my range slowly as well.

I would just like it to be consistant. The other day some dude came running into my camp because a Krayt had been chewing on him. I hit areatrack and tehre was NOTHING around. But the guy insisted that he had been jumped by a dragon. So I wandered around and sure enough 205m away from my camp was a Krayt dragon! So I could care less about the range being 500 or 1000, I just want the results to be correct.

I have tested this, and you are indeed correct.

  • /areatrack starts at a 250m range, and steps up 50m for each level.

Congratulations, you stumped me...

  • Keep up the good works.

Well, It seems some have had one experience with it and other another. For me, and I am a Master Ranger, and have been for a while, it always showed out to 500m if it was working right.
