Why are you a Ranger?

I am not writting to complain about the Ranger Prof. we all know there is enought that going around. However I would like to inquire about what drives you to beRanger. I finally made and alt toon for thisadventurous proffession. He is a Wookiee at 0.0.3.4 Ranger. And traps where a big pain in the butt, took forever lol. And I am just wondering if I should keep going for Master Ranger like I have plained, becuase i am almost there. I wanted to be a Ranger becuase the idea of it sounds awesome. I mean being cloaked while hunting down the most challegable game. Or poping out of nowhere and saving a group from beingslaughtered with the rescue command. But most of all being a type of woodsman out on my own, not needing the commpany of a group. This is what I had dreamed of.

So why are you a Ranger?

Too stupid to drop it (well..I tried to, but I was already hooked). When I first started Rangering, it was still a pretty decent, bug free profession. Even through it's downward spiral I have clung to it (or came back to it, in 2 cases).

I guess I still have hope for the future. I am the eternal optomist.

I gravitated toward ranger because I generally don't like anybody. The lone hunter who comes in from the wilds now and again to sell his harvests seemed like fun. I've grown as a person, though, and now I generally don't like anybody but rangers.

This is one of the few forums devoid of moronic whining snivelers. Well for the most part.

I tried several other proffessions on different servers. I liked pistoleers and i really had fun with smuggler. Then I tried Bounty Hunter and even tho it was bugged I had a blast, this was back when you had to master scout to become BH, so I already had alot of scout xp....thought taking some Ranger skills would help...like tracking...and it did help......alot....then the BH bugs got worse and a guild mate helped me choose between going ranger or all combat...Once I chose Ranger...it was like finding my niche...I really liked scout so this was like "Super Scout"...I love everything about being a ranger...the bugs can be a pain...but I can live with them.....The hunting , tracking, harvesting and yes even the camping......I find myself logging on and just heading out for a hunt...I will track, trap, kill, harvest and then sit in a nice big camp and craft some more traps or reflect on what I had just done...

After Mastering Ranger on my main server....i wanted to do it again...so i started a new character and traveled the non-respec'n path. I find that now playing on a server with other rangers has made me love the profession even more. Rangers seem to be some of the best people to talk to and hunt with..even x-rangers still have alot of the qualities i find pleasant in this game.

because of the people. there's nobody else in the game like the Rangers I've met in-game and on the forums. I changed servers to hang out with some of them. THAT's why I'm still a Ranger.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I'm a Ranger because we are rare. We stick together too. I've never met such a great bunch of people until I met the Rangers. Even though our profession (lifestyle) is borked beyond recognition, we keep at it and stick together. I used to see myself more as a Bounty Hunter, but now Ranger is more like it.

hm i became a ranger because it was so damn rare. also, i like the RP of it...yes, im one of those RPing folks.

ive never been tempted to drop it, i love the rp, plus all the other rangers. just today i met a scout, working towards ranger. i was so happy to see a fledgling ranger i gave him a million cred and directed him to these boards. told him how great the community is, so keep an eye out for the new guy, he will have questions.
