Thread: does foraging give survival exp?
The best way is to hunt with friends. After big fights, hang out in a camp to heal wounds, swap stories, train noobs, etc.
The fastest way is to grind camps while sitting in a camp. Redeploy the camp every half an hour or so. Grind grind grind.
The afk way is considered a really bad thing, and you'll get your wrist slapped for doing it if you get caught.

I assumed best meant fastest....I agree with Tal...

Don't let the "Purists" lol Get you down. Anyone who thinks they are better because they did survival the hard way needs to remember THIS IS JUST A GAME. Play it how you like. Using in-game macros IS ALLOWED.

. I know someone will step and give the AFK macro. Most Ranger's position is, how can you learn to use skills if you aren't at the keyboard actively learning them? No big deal howone gets through survival, but, IMO, one can not comment on a skil that they did not actively learn how to use. Sorry to sound preachy .AFK Macros were deemed 'ok' by the devs...many Rangers think they are cheating...

You said it yourself...IN GAME macros are allowed.
being AFK kinda take you away from the game...
besides, why bother grinding at this point? you're gonna have to do the missions soon anyway.

It takes less time to just grind them. And as long as youharvest the 30k or so of hides and bones you need to grind them, you are learning some of the profession.
The high tech feild base looks so cool, but is totaly useless, Ive had NUNA's wander through the camp. I wouldnt expect the camp to stop a graul or a rancor but a NUNA!

Forage is a waste of time unless you need fishing bait. All the food items you will get will fill your stomach 51% and give a buff that might last 5 mins if you lucky or 5 seconds if ur not.
Well, enjoy getting through a proffession thatprovides a lot of fun and one of the smartest community veterans (among whose numbers i do not yet count myself) in the game. I'm sure you'll find a way around the other types of XP without having to do any hunting. I'm sure you can just buy all the materials you need to make the tents, so you won't even have to do something as mundane as EARN your way through the proffession.
