ok after talking with many people i have come to realize that why spend hours searching in-game or on allakahzam about equipment items or quests for the facts, when we should be trading facts, missions and ranger knowledge right here. This post really came about do to the fact that i ran into a aspiring ranger who's template thus far just includes Rifles/some ranger, and he knew nothing about the cyber arm quest or where to get the kashyyk camo kit from!!! so i figured i would adress the issue here.
Anything questable or dropped u think is a good thing for a ranger to have and use, or at least have! post it and lets share the knowledge with all rangers, here in a more accessable and ranger friendly place.

wow - another great idea for a thread! I would say two things:

  • the shellfish harvesting tool. This starts from the guy in the ravine in achorhead. He will reward you with a schematic which you can then give to an artisan (not sure what level) and have him/her/it make you a tool. Useful for dredging up shellfish and such.... The schematic is *not* single use, so you should talk your friendly artisan into making you a crate of them in case one breaks due to decay, etc...

  • health-buff crystal. This crystal will, until the devs get around to changing it :>, increase your health by 2000 pts. for 2 hours. You can only use it once every two days or so, but it might give you that edge you need hunting big game, etc.... You have to be force-sensitive to get this quest, but once you can get into the village wait until phase 2 and talk to Whip.

Most definitely of benefit to get all the parts to have a creature recycler crafted for you use. Makes it soooo simple to get rid of scraps and get bulk hides for sale to Tailors.

Also helps when you want to factory run camps or traps (until and unless they ever making trap crafting something you can experiment on) since you do it one time using recycled stuff, and you've got a schematic good "forever".

As a Ranger/Rifleman, the +5m cyber arm is a huge benefit, I am single pull anything with a concel shot from 70m.

Talk to the hunter in Bestine Cantina to start this one. You will probably need a group to finish it as you have to kill a Rancor (a plain rancor, NOT any other kind or rancor).

Myself a Ranger/Rifleman, I use this cyber-arm. But don't forget about the +10 cyber arm from the Myydril Caverns on Kashyyyk. These give you a +80 total range.

Spec ops pack.

Adds points to several Ranger abilities.

Such as the mighty mighty Forage. No really, it is useful and holds stuff and looks ok.

Not as cool as the Chiss Poachers pack, but that one has no added in benefits.

Hunting Trophies:

Most of the mounted heads are obtained through talking to the Rodians on Kashyyyk. But the Mynstingar and the Katarn ones are different.

Mynstingar and Katarn Trophy quest start with the lone wookiee to the left at the top of the Rryatt Trail.

Krayt Skull - Starts at the Moenia Cantina with some of Borvo The Hutt's thugs.

Don't forget the Master Hunter Trophy (a bol skull) which you get from Mat Rags in Mos Espa. I just got that one a few days ago and it matches the looted creature trophies

and here's a kind of lesser known trophy from RoTW.

The Rodian Master Hunter Trophy (can be seen inside Sordaan's Cabin)

Kill all of the named Creatures in the Etyyy Hunting Grounds, and loot them. Check their radial menu in your inventory, and you should be able to figure out the rest (don't want to completely give it away)

LD-1 Rifle. a MUST have for any Rifleman Ranger. Handsdown the best looking rifle in the game.

Do the Kerritamba Chief's quests, then, in the arena, kill that sorry arse champion;

Then go talk to the outcast informant at the entrance to the village, and complete all the Outcasts quests. Hopefully the Webweaver cave has been fixed, because that was a MAJOR pain in the arse back when i did it. before the stupid 'grey cons won't aggro', and when the spiders would hit you at ranges of +30m through walls and the floor.

I would also consider the Imperial Prototype PSG.

More for the +10 Ranged accuracy and +10 Melee Accuracy bonus than the protection it offers,

Nowconsidering you can get about 2000 additional energy resist by wearing one its not bad.

Easier and cheaper to buy than looking for the same in SEA tapes.

Rings:

  • hero ring - obtained by completing the Tat. hermit quests. Non-tradable, usuable once a day for I think 50 times. Restores life. Very good for all of those times when you almost killed that extremely difficult to find critter.
  • rebel ring - obtained from the rebel theme park (not sure which quest sorry). Has mods to maskscent and camo.
  • Aakuan ring - dropped by Aakuan NPCS on Talus. Has ranged defense mods (+5 I think).
