Thread: Holo Ranger
Happy hunting.
My holo also told me master ranger. So far I'm a 1/2/3/4 ranger, almost 1/3/3/4 (camping macros = your friend when afk). It's been a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Cruising around Yavin racking up scout xp with /maskscent on has been the most fun I've had in game in awhile. Trapping is also fun, though of dubious utility. A hint: kamuriths = your friend when not afk. It's also nice to get a fresh perspective on the game; I will always spend a few minutes in other people's camps when I walk by now, since I feel their pain. I wasa weaponsmith before, too, so it's nice to get out into the wild and check things out. I much prefer it to crafting in my basement. Good luck, and enjoy your time as a ranger.
I have never wanted to play a Ranger in any other MMORPG or even in any pen-and-paper RPG. The class generally doesn't appeal to me.
But there's something about the SWG implementation that calls to me.
I mean, I make a decent living off my Artisan skills. I have Engineering IV and Domestic Arts IV, and between the two (plus the Human +15 Artisan Experimentation bonus), I make between 55-60k every 3-4 days just selling Food and Chemical Crafting Tools on the Bazaar. And Surveying 3 helps me find good spots for harvesters and the like. So I'm not in any real hurry to get rid of these skills. Consequently, my plan is to just be an 0/0/4/0 Ranger.
But I frequently catch myself contemplating the idea of selling off all my Artisan skills to become Master Ranger (and I'd have to sell 'em ALL off, including Novice Artisan -- thus giving up Survey and Sample -- in order to be a Master Ranger/Master Rifleman).
I'm not sure I want to do that.
But the fact that I think about it at all -- much less think about it as often as I do -- says something about the allure of the profession.
Something I wonder about being a Jedi, seeing as this is a Holocron thread and all.
I wonder if you're capable of harvesting resources from what you kill? They apparently can craft and heal, so why not be scouty too? heh.. just a thought, I'd hate to be a Jedi and not be able to harvest what I kill.
"I wonder if you're capable of harvesting resources from what you kill?"
I can see it now...
Force Harvest
- The Jedi stares for a secondand the hide falls of the corpse and neatly folds itself into a stack.

Isn't that basically what we do already? ![]()
With our luck, actually, a Jedi Initiate can probably harvest all three resources at once ![]()

Hmmm... That reminds me.
- I should add that old Hunting knife proposal to the Wish List.

Hmm... I missed that one. Was it just going to be an item that gives a harvesting bonus?

I can understand why, here is the thread (check out the date
):
It was a request to need a hunting knife in your inventory to actually /harvest.
- The condition of the knife would reduce each time a harvest was performed.
- It was intended as a means to boost Artisan equipment sales.
A part ofthe requestwas increased harvest depending on the quality of knife used. ![]()
