um...I'm not losing anything. I'm gaining new skills. If I keep Master Scout/Master Ranger in my template, I will have all the best of the current Ranger profession as well as all the benefits of the new Ranger. Been a Ranger for two years, and I'm proud to say that I'm not losing anything.

By the way, the "naysayers" I was refering to is in referance to people who said Rangers weren't getting a revamp and thought the devs were ignoring us. It was to people who were already a part of this community, not a commentary on the actual changes, just on the fact that there was one. I understand that ifsomebody didn't read these forums before thenthey wouldn't understand some of this, but it helps to read around the forums before they try to jump in on things that are directed towards forum regulars.

The naysayers Phenix is referring to are the people who said the revamp would never happen. He's NOT talking about people who don't like the revamp, as they are entitled to their opinion (the community seems to be at a 50/50 split with this at the moment).

The reason why a lot of us aren't too bothered about the complete shift of defining roles in the profession is because Ranger has always been Scout+. The fact that they're moving everything but tracking into Scout is great news since we can be Master Scouts and still have our "Ranger lifestyle". Think of it as a huge skill point reduction with the only downside being that we can't track anymore. Plus we get this brand new profession to play with

and maybe the "ranger revamp" my oddly named ship from JtL Beta might now get off the ground :-D

I suppose I might like becoming a DnD Rogue ......

I'm still undecided.. I guess I can't say if I like it or not until I have seen the new Ranger in action. And it depends on the combat mods, I hope we will get something more than +10 defense at master.
