No offense taken.
While my income is pretty much entirely based on hunting, when I first read those misleading descriptions of the Ranger profession, both in the manual and ingame, I envisioned a special forces type military guy. Hence the TKM. I was pretty bummed when I first learned that traps don't affect npc's and players, because the descriptions in the boxes sound like it would be otherwise. I honestly didn't know that the profession would be completely creature-oriented.
I'll admit, it is kind of odd to hunt game using kung fu. But, like you said, we're all different.

First:
Bothan, Master Pistoleer
...has mastered the Ranger profession.
[Master Ranger]
I'd say that badge/title covers it.
(Although I wouldn't mind seeing "...has saved the behind of a [fill in your uber combat temp here] whose buffs had dropped, while hunting unbuffed herself." or something like it.)

I have done a few boxes in both of them before. Hehe. I think the CH/Rifleman suits a Ranger alot better than melee. What do you people think?I say do it! It may not be the most "harvest effecient" way to Ranger (ie you have to run up to the corpse/s afterwards, or use a messy droid - more trouble than they're worth imo) but nothing beats the feeling of running round the wilds with a couple of pets in tow, taking things down from a nice safe distance where you can just about see them. I ran into Moena the other day from a quest mision (bol skull) and as I came out of the woods in the fading light on the edge of the city I watched 3-4 people's heads looking at me as I ran past, and I could tell what they were thinking... Ha Ha, look at that noob! Unbuffed, no armour and with no speeder bi.... ohhhhhhh, it's a Ranger!!You don't get a badge, but it's a great feeling!

Im a Twi'lek whose going TKM/ranger but will imediately go Swordsman/ranger afterwards to go hunt high end mobs with a swordsman/novice doc/fencer something or other friend of mine.
And a "...has done [x,y or z] [without doctor buffs/without armour]" badge would be cool. Maybe it could be awarded in some sort of sick trial where you face nasty monsters in a gauntlet of some type with doc buffs and armour being banned. If you complete it alive you get the badge and a cool prize.
Such an arena would be fine with me as long as it was big enough for me to snipe from 70+ meters away

Hehe. They should have two. One with melee range mobs and one with mobs that kite, to make it fair. Man, we should push owen to put forward this idea!
