All that cool "excitement" stuff is fine for things like Gorax, Krayt, GDK, et al but when the doc wants Herbi from Pikets and it's taking me one hour per lair I WILL NOT be happy.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

Calc,

To rehash from your summary you are absolutely right! They do not want unhappy customers but Ranger = very few customers which = not much revenue loss.

Until all the professions who rely on us to supply for their crafting supplies notice we've gone, then there's even more people not happy. Then after they quit, there's all theircustomers who'll not be happy.

Damn, we rangers ARE undervalued aren't we.

If Rangers constituted the bulk of hunters for profit that would be true. Unfortunately, most of the hunting is accomplished by template stackers with a droid and sometimes just novice. I think we can agree that it should be the Rangers and especially Master Rangers that outshine anyone but that is just not the case. Rangers could leave today and crafters would still get there hides. Crafters have adjusted there prices for the shortage of rangers long ago. For example, on my server recent spawns of Lok Wooly = 100cpu, Talus avian 175cpu, Naboo wooly=50, in the past prices have been over 200cpu. Very few rangers delivering but massive amounts of novice hunters with combat templates. Many armorsmiths had achieved there quotos in just days. Are Rangers undervalued? The answer is Yes. But SOE has made it so, not this forum or its members.

I keep saying it....no worthwhile changes for Rangers until sometime next year. To those Rangers who are continuing to hold out, I admire your perserverance in the face of this continued indifference and apathy from the devs.

We have all talked about it for months and i was really hoping it would get some loving in the CB, especially for the Rangers.

Also, I agree with others, isn't traps combat related?

also curious about that...

maybe i should add "nerfboy hats" to the list of needed tailor schematics... the nerf herders need good headwear...

I do believe in Calculus good impressions, but I am a bit skeptic. DEVs and players speak the same language? Many times I wonder this.

I believe it would have been more usefull if they firstpatchbugged professions, then make a complete new CB, then JTL. I don't know if I'll be playing SWGin one year

Being more positive, is anything Known about if Novice Ranger will still need Master Scout ( less skill points issue)? Nowadays, I hunt higher quantites per hourin a more comfortable way (I have 2 advanced combat professions) with just Scout 2040 than when I was Master Ranger. I don't even need Master Scout. I only miss /areatrack (and I miss it a lot... hehe ).

No, it wasn't, but I will start a thread on the Corr Forum in a bit.

I can't disagree with that, BUT they are not knowingly going to alienate any part of their constituency.

So..

The sum summarum of the summit was that things remain basically status quo for this almost irritatingly patient profession untilthe "streets will be paved with gold and we will bathe in honey"'ishly revamp in what.. 6 months? not counting unforeseen delays obviously, for there will be many, or do ANY ONE of you actually believe JTL will have any bit more of a flawless release than this messedup prematurebeta?

So, for probably closer to yetanother year, we will remain with:

- Camokits that is worthless for creaturehunting, but convenient for sneaking up on NPCS!?

-A terrain negotiation that doesn't do significantly more than a 4-x-x-x scout?

-Campsthat remain useless since buffs won't get theirs till, which we know damned wellwon't come when they say it it will,CB?

-Tracking remains at the cruel mercy ofdownright sillyspawnrates as opposed to walking into town and letting a mission terminal spawn your monsters for you and WP the way there to boot?

- WorthlessTraps that are better used for puny lightshows and for impressing newbies?

Now, to boot we will continuebe outshone by novice scouts/fightertemplate for the actual hunts just to hammer the nails into the coffin of the profession, because not a soul in_the entire dev team_ can find the time in their busybeaver scheduleto make some very simple numeric nerfs or tweaks to harvesting in favour of "the ultimate creaturehunter"??

*pictures HARDCORE rangers, anno 2005 february, curled up in thefetus positionin the forest chanting to themselves*:

"I am a ranger.. I hunt things.. yeah, I am a badarse hunter.. *gobble gobble* precioussssssss hawtpantsesss, but the DEV master lovesss usss... NO hawtpantsesis OURS*gollum gollum*"

I just think itwill take a wholelot more than hawtpants to hold this profession going till the utopian revamp hits us all, like snowflakes through a vacuumcleaner.
