Volsted would you happen to have an excell docco with all of this worked out on it, if you do could u share it plz, if its not too much trobble, would make life a lot easier for thoes of us who arn't so good at maths.

See here http://www.jard.co.uk/swg/downloads.shtml , and here http://www.jard.co.uk/swg/animalresourcecalc.shtml for my Excel and Web versions from page 3 or so of the thread (I recommend the web based version, but some people prefer the other). There's also at least one other Excel version earlier in the thread, and a DOS based version too.

I have been working on this formulae a bit (leave it to an Engineer to make practical what the Mathmatician comes up with ) and have some mods to put in.

form: Fn = (T1*w1 + T2*w2 + ... Tn*wn)/(wsum*1000)*(Limit - b) + b

where Tn is the resource variable, wn is the wieght number, wsum is the total of all wieghts and Limit is the price of a perfect resource (all 1000). This is a price cap I use to keep the market "sane".

There is an additionalvariable I put in, b, that adds control of how steep the sloping of the formulae works. Assume for now that this is zero, as I have not needed to factor that in yet. Using the threshold minimum price will overide the formulae of course at the lower end, but b can be used to get there more quickly for poorer resources.

Using this can easily put in a spreadsheet, an additinal switch where

Fn' = Fn:minimum(Fn > minimum)

Such that the "If" statement switched to the minimum price for any resource if the function goes below that.

For example, my current formulae

Meat:

(OQ*10 + PE*4 + Fla*2 + DR*1)/(18*1000)*(20)

Hide/Bone

(OQ*10 + SR*6 + Mal*2 + UT*1 + DR*1)/(20*1000)*(20)
and if Fn<3 then Fn=3

Units are of course Credits per unit resource. All numbers rounded normally.

Wasn't this stickied at one point? It's a great guide, and IMNSHO, should be at the top of the list.

The changes to Chef have added a Decay experimentation to their products, but I noticed you do not have Decay weighted in this. Would it be too hard to add it? Decay on resources determines the Filling for food, therfore its actually pretty important. I'm not sure if BE experiment on Chef tissues using the Decay stat.

I'm afraid that as I'm not a chef, and I don't have much contact with chefs in game I don't have access to the ways their new crafting schematics work at all.

If you can make up a nice set of equations like Volsted did right at the start of this thread then I'd be happy to make the relevant changes to the web page and spreadsheet.

Does anyone still use Volsted's formulae other than buyers on my server? Not saying that it's bad, but I feel that Im getting terribly short changed (7-8cpu for a meat with 2 stats in the 900's) and Im tired of it. Kettemoor has quite a few people that believe everything that they hear instead of what they know, so I can't sell anything for higher because they see this as holding true 100% of the time. These are the same people that are trying to sell me a camo attachment (+4) for 300k because camo is sooo awesome. The person was angry when I offered 25k for it. =/

Anyway, back on subject, does anyone have any other formulae they use or does everyone just play it by ear? I saw Fred's just now and I'll try that one when I get back on tomorrow.

I don't hunt regularly. I did it for cash recently only because I got an email from my guild leader telling me people were paying 150cpu for Naboo Avian. So I jumped on the bandwagon, and made about 3 million between me and my missus. We spent a lot of it, but we still have about 1.5 between us, so I figure I will hunt for my own purposes again now.

150 cpu???

Can you remember wihch were its stats? The maximun price I've seen in my server is 25 cpu for a good Hervibore Meat. Personally, tne only thing I can sell by 10 cpu is milk. Luckly for me, people hasn't patience enough for milking.

Cerstian, it's important to realize that when this formula was created economies were still maturing. At the time, this was an excellent way of creating a price for your organics that was fair for both sides. With changes to the game and the highly inflated economy, setting your prices higher than this should be a given. I use it as a base and then usually add a multiplier, usually X2 to the base price. I have yet to have someone complain about the prices that I set for organics. But I only ever really deal with well established chefs, BEs and Armorsmiths on the server. They have the experience to know the value of something. That's why you see chefs offering 150 cpu for meat: they know that it's well worth the investment.

I still have problems with grinders or noobs. Hear people shouting all the time about needing grind quality organics but when I send them a tell they are only willing to pay 3 cpu. My min price, as illustrated in this thread, is 5 cpu and I think that's very fair for grind quality. But don't try telling that to someone that has their mind set on 3 cpu. I always walk away from deals like that. No need to put yourself through the aggravation.

I was just wondering what everyone else is using. Colby, on our server, usually pays the most 50-150 cpu, and I try to offer 35 cpu for that, which I believe is well worth it, but most people disagree.I've also come across the afk shouters that want me to send a tell to sell my goods... Sad part was I fell for it, but I did have fun spamming their inbox and PMs.

Off topic, where have you been Issovi, haven't seen you on in awhile. It's kinda lonely in the chat room.
