That would in my case be counter productive. My point was to simply again restate that this forum has a definitive pattern as evidenced by those posts. This forum is ask to provide ideas on how the profession can be improved. This forum masterfully provides wonderfully detailed ideas and then is told to wait....and wait....and wait. Then when the forum begins to get a little edgy the Corr is dispatched with a message along the lines of be patient...change is coming...they have noticed us...but the ideas are old and need to be refreshed for the devs. It was the Image design revamp, then wait for the Chef Revamp, wait for the Droid Engineer revamp, Jedi Revamp, wait for JTL, wait and see you will get something in the CU. Now it is wait till after the Smuggler and Squad leader revamp. How many times must one add 2+ 2 to understand the answer will always be 4. Even now many members of this forum are asking me to play nice and continue to add 2+2 together while hoping for a different answer. The answer will always be the same as long as the equation is the same. The devs know that this forum as it stands today can endlessly be put a back and will wait even if a change never comes. But wait, we should tell them the one change we really really want. Oh I thought we did...Harvest %. Hmmm that hasn't changed. This forum needs to change its method. One possible method is to say as a community that we don't want to replace Calc with a new Corr until the devs come though with a sign of good faith. Implement something no matter how small. Those who argue we need a Corr for representation please show me what that representation has achieved. I think Calc has done an outstanding job. He certainly has allowed me my voice and cheerfully answered my questions even when this forum chastised me but Calc and any other Corr can not help us until the devs genuinely intend to do so. I for one would rather not here what they have to say until such time as they genuinely intend to improve any aspect of Ranger.

Seraphin-- just because Calc is leaving doesn't mean all the old threads are now relavent. Heck, if anything that makes them LESS relavant because of their age. Calc has said several times now that the VERY old post by TH is comepletely useless as a basis for what Ranger should get now because the post is so old and the developers minds have changed so much. Similarly, posts made in May probably don't accurately represent the concerns of both the present development team, NOR the concerns of the present Rangers. You say many excellent ideas have been generated and I agree--that means that our desires may have changed too.
I don't want to argue with you- you're entitled to your opinion, but dredging up the past is hardly the way I would choose to state your message. Start your own thread and go from there. I see the frustration you're facing and I have it too, but I assure you, we ARE in line for a revamp. But nothing we do now is going to change the order of that line. I don't know exactly where in that line we are, but assure you we're closer to the front than the back. Our correspondants have done a wonderful job at keeping this community generating ideas and bringing those ideas to the developers. But whoever takes over is going to run into the same issue-- we're already slated to be a certain position in line. So right now any complaining is basically just spinning the wheels. There are plenty of ideas yet to have been brought up here and I think it's more prudent for us to develop good ideas now, before we get to our scheduled revamp, then spend time wondering why we haven't already gotten it.
As I said, you're entitled to your opinion. But please express them in a constructive way, not by breaking the forum policy against necro-posting.

What change in method are you suggesting?
Refusing to pick a new correspondant, whining, spamming cities, grieving other players until we get out way? Cry revolution and lead the charge if you want to but I don't think most Rangers will go for that.
A revamp will come some day. We don't know when andit won't be as soon as we like, but it will come. Our choice is simply how to wait. Do we whine and complain, do we quit or give up? Or, do we try our best to put our heads together and come up with new ideas for what our fabled revamp will be like? The choice is yours...

I don't know about anyone else but I'd rather not come to a forum where all people were doing was ranting, screaming and generally acting likepre-schoolers. I think one of the most refreshing parts of this forum is the fact that were not all nappy wearing 4 year olds.
Plus I don't think the negative attitude thing has done much for anyone else anyway....

So since this community is so happy without any changes or with the fact that they think changes will come despite no proof to suggest that changes will ever come. Why then does this community need a Corr. Everyone suggests they are happy with Ranger as is or happy to wait no Corr needed then. Everyone tells me to wait well its been over 18 months. In another 18months you will all say hey Serraphin just wait the changes are coming...the changes are coming.

Well, I won't say changes are coming and I in no way mean any disrespect when I say this but if you aren't happy then play another profession. If I wasn't a Ranger, I'd probably be a Creature Handler just so I could have a big cat-like pet....named Mr. Snuggles.

Seraphin-- the Ranger Revamp was ALWAYS going to be after the smuggler revamp and the SL revamp. The reason is that we HAVE had changes. Areatrack and camo weren't originally part of being a Ranger. So they've been pushed back just as much as we have been.
No one's saying you can't be displeased-- heck there are some people out there who can tell you how worked up I've been recently. But I calmed myself by reminding myself that I can't force change. There is a schedule for revamps, we are on it.
As soon as you see smuggler and SL revamps, be ready to give good imput because that's when we can affect the Ranger profession. Right now, you're getting mad and it's not going to help you at all. I know you've been told just to wait and that may not seem like a good answer to you...but whether you choose to wait or not...you're going to wait. If you do it angry, it'll only seem harder.
We need a corr. to bring ideas to the developers. Specific issues, bugs, etc. A correspondant does not mean instant gratification of what we want-- they are there to bring ideas forward, as well as to stop ideas that might hurt us. The most recent example of that was the organics survey device that let people pull meat out of the air.
You need a Correspondant for all those things-- as well as to keep hold of a community. Calc has done a LOT for this community and I bet a good bit of it goes unrecognized. His positive attitude is infectuous and it goes a long way to making this community better. It may not may the revamp come sooner--but it sure makes the wait a lot more fun.

We have 3 trees that are fully irrelevant. At least one of those tree should be addressed. This has been the sad case for some time and continuing to do things the same way only issures that Ranger will remain a 25% effective profession. But hey at least the HTFB looks cool right.

You came in here three months ago and did this same song and dance. It didn't work then and it won't work now because the underlying situation hasn't changed - we know we're behind other professions and we're going to have to wait. Just live with it. And more importantly smile - all this moaning isn't good for the soul

DND you had the same reactions on your initial appearance in this forum as I recall, shooting down ideas and having a generally negative attitude. I much more enjoy your posts now then previously, but if you live in glass houses.....
Cut Serraphin a break you guys. None of us are innocent of the occasional griping in here and I yes, I speak from experience. I'm sure I've driven Calc mad more than a few times. Do not mistake passion for anger though. I am waiting anxiously now that JTL is behind us for the anticipated "love" that has been rumored to be coming our way. Yes yes I know, after the Combatwhatever, but it is still coming.
Waiting for Ranger to be made what Greenmarine said he wanted it to be at Fanfest has not been an easy thing, especially given the infamous thread from Holocron talking about all the neat things they planned but never implemented for us. Serraphin is only expressing what many feel but don't post in the forums. He should not be shouted down.
Good hunting to you all and (cheap plug) if you Ranger's on Lowca need good weapons come visit me in Harata on Naboo. I make some pretty spiffy weapons, and Agonthalia (Draknev) was quite fond of them. Shubacca too.

Serra's "get rid of Corrs" attitude is not about passion, Oppma.
