I think I put one too many Space Melons in one too many threads.
I lost count and I think I just accidentally gave Tiggs a Space Melon instead of being in the Space Ranger thread.

Please stop the necro posting. The devs know we exist. The devs will fix us someday. The devs are aware of our concerns. Trust me. I have made it abundantly clear to them. The Sandbox Rangers have had direct contact with the devs and can back me up. All you are doing with these necro posts is cluttering up the forum.

I have to agree with Calculus, I do believe that someday Rangers will be fixed. I think somewhere through June I had hoped the profession would've had some attention by the end of the year,now I don't have hope for that through most of next year there will be any positive changes to the profession. But if you look through all of 2004 you will see nothing but bad news for Rangers.
Mostly I'm just sorry that Calculus didn't see any positivity come from his duration as correspondant. He did a good job, a very challenging, struggle filled job, that unfortunately probably had more roadblocks than he was prepared for. NowI hope the next Correspondant will be prepared for a struggle, and many battles that will likely getthe professionnowhere.

Seraph-- the community as a whole knows that we need attention. There has been communication with the developers. But we've known the schedule of what the developers were planning for over 5 months now. At this point it's game of waiting. There needs to be some positive energy when the devs get here. Digging up the past only leaves you dirty, after all. No one is saying you can't express your opinion. and no one is saying that there is one "right" way to go about looking for change. But the forum usage documents state that necro posting is bad. You've resurected several old threads and done nothing to make them relevant to today. We all know Rangers still haven't gotten any love. But "they STILL haven't helped up" posts do nothing to help the community. You see them a lot in other professions because they are easier to do and require less thought than actually coming up with ideas or arguments. I expect more from our community. We as a whole are very intelligent, and while I know the wait is frustrating (believe me, I've been more agitated lately myself) I have come to expect that Rangers are the exception to the rule whne the chips are down and as a whole we should strive for ideas over complaints.

They are relevant because Calc is stepping down. Further this community already has presented several excellent ideas and this forum has yet to bear any fruit from them.

Calc has done an incredible job as Correspondent, and the sand-boxers have done a great job pushing the need for "Ranger Love."
There is no doubt in my mind that TH, Tiggs and everyone else have us on their radar right now. I have to say we have some of the most well written, well concieved player produced documents of any forum. TH and (and even Raph) have commentedabout some of these documents in the past.
You have to remember, other professions have recieved less attention than Ranger has.
We will most definitely be getting a revamp.
If you want to help out the new correspondent I suggest, as Nemo0 did in another thread, you make a post linking to all the posts you feel are important and explain why. That'll give the new person plenty of stuff to look at and think about. It will even make it easier for them to show things to the Dev Team if need be.
