Thread: So we've been ignored on harvesting. What now?
Owen-Lars wrote:Oh yeah sorry hehe. I meant that in a group if everyone else is recieving the 40% the ranger (assuming no other rangers are in group) would recieve 20%. Got my wires crossedCheers
No worries.. it gets confusing sometimes.

Ok this is not a flame or anything like that, im just going to address some of these points DaveG brought out.
Note: Again im not having a go at you dave or discrediting your quests, simply answering them:
are you taking into account the extreme sense of frustration felt by everybody?
There is frustration, felt by all. Some have looked at the 'concept' and direction of the changes and liked where it is heading, others havnt. The bottom line though is that there has been frustration since the revisions went in, nothing has changed since then and having frustration does not mean the point becomes more valid, it has always been a top issue and no matter how much we get pissed wont change that.
Are you taking into account that the system as published is unbalanced?
Its an issue, i think we can all accept that.
Are you taking into account that many rangers spent a lot of time collecting data to test the system?
What has the data collection have to do with anything? It has been put to good use and was a valuable contribution to the community. Just because these changes are live presently doesnt mean that they screwed up the data and forgot about it, it has and will continue to be put to good use.
Are you taking into account that SOE announced that the system would be published an seemingly ignored all that testing (rather than saying "ok we won't publish until we fix these issues")?
Calc highlighted this in our post. They ddint not ignore the testing at all, i directed tiggs to the data and she looked it, apreciatedit (as she posted) and passed it on to the dev team. They asked for it, it was provided and they used it and will continue to. The devs dont 'ignore' our points, they are very much aware of how we feel and just because either a bad change has been pushed (as a mistake) or the devs have gone a different direction does not mean they are ignoring us in the slightest. They are the devs, we are the customers, we play their game.
Are you taking into account that no matter how much work the correspondants have done the devs do not give any outward appearence of taking notice, and the effect this has on the community?
They have, tiggs stopped by after she was directed here and posted that she wanted test data. I also said many many times that they know of the issues and are thinking about them. The reason for Corrs is the represent the community and also act on behalf of the community. I do that and the devs know of our issues, i know that for sure but just because they dont post directly doesnt mean they dont know of our issues and arnt listening to our desires.
Are you even taking into account the amount of time and I expect, restraint that whent into Bethya's post?
It did get a response, could of been worded better but did the job i supose.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say Bethya's post got the most publicly and openly positive response from a SOE person to any ranger. Given that it was a single sentence shows how uncommunicative to the general player base they are.
Again, just because the devs dont speak here doesnt mean they are not working on things. I have given you the details they gave me, i kept you all up to date that i was presenting, creating and adressing the ideas and solutions. Yes some comments are behind closeddoors, but your corr will give you the detailsof changes/issues when we are allowed.
End ofthe day, thedevs can visit every forum and read every post, thatswhat the corrs are here for. You issues get presented, the devs know what the crack is, you dont need a privateconversation with the devs to get that as i have been saying for a while now the devs are aware of the issue.
Again this is not a rant, flame, insult, act of agression, put down or whatever to dave, its addressing alot of issues.
Just a quick comment while I'm on break before I head home:
#1) Accolades to Owen, Calc, Frightwig, Paks, DaveG, Aragorn and all others involved in the testing and discussion. Yes it's been hard and yes it went live but Mr. Walton said it will be fixed. Fantastic job to you all. Phenix too sorry mate!
#2) Lets shelve the hostilities between certain parties in this forum recently shall we. I can relate to one Ranger's feelings in that I have felt on the outside and like I was being flamed by the Corr. The flip side is that Owen and Calc are doing all they can to help us. Being negative (yes I know it all perception) doesn't help anyone. Let's all just take a deep breath and appreciate the fact that right now, unbelievably, and for good or bad, Rangers are in the spotlight. Maybe all this will lead to some recognition and push towards our revamp.
Good hunting all. Let me know if I can help with anything in live or T.C.

You know Dave, you talk about how mistreated you are, and how nobody listens to your side, then you go and treat other people the same way....hmmmm...
Calc,
How can you compare a set of question to a set of blatent flames?
As for "how nobody listens to your side", please don't misrepresent me. I have never said that, in fact quite the opposite given the number of people agreeing with me.
Please don't continue the climate of animosity that came out in that last thread.
Every question I asked was the opposite of what you asekd and I the flamer? Pot, met kettle.

ouch guys the Devs give Rangers some love and make grouping more important and all of you are expressing more negativity than you can shake a stick at.
If i was a piece loveing hippy i think i woulda had a heart attack reading some of this bad vibes indeed.
All i gotta say is if this can have any effect on the economy in a positive way (200 CPU meat anyone??) and bring down this silly prices like they did with krayt pearls i say good
Cheaper Ranger/scout products means cheaper doc and Food and armor products which mean newer people who join the game wont be so overwhelmed with prices and the game might just make it into a few years running.
Yes i know Rangers might take a price cut but geez put the Greed away and think about what is best for the game.

So long as there's still a penalty for a Ranger's grouping choices, it's not true love. Before it was a 40% hit for choosing to group, now it's a hit for choosing not to group (or being unable to). They simply didn't think it through.
On my server, the costs for good meats and wooly hides have been halved since the solo group changes. Guess what? Those buying the goods have not lowered their prices. Docs have actually gone up by 20% to 70%, despite paying 75 cpu for meat that used to go for 150-200 cpu. I only know one doc who's still routinely cheap--9k, no matter how good the buff is. People now expect to pay grind mineral costs (1-2 cpu) for grind hide and meat--in the same quantities!
No one's lowered a single price so far except for the Rangers, so I don't suspect that anyone's going to lower their final product prices now, either.
Hehe... I've said this before too... Others won't lower their prices.
What I can see happening is that we can cut our times in halve, getting the same amount of credits we need.
I'm a ranger, no need for many credits (read millions of), no need for buffs or other very expensive stuff. So when do I need money? New foods, new ubese armor, maybe some helpfull skilltapes and such. So I hunt enough just to get the credits, maybe hunt a bit more to get stock and leave it at that... What I previiously hunted in a weeks time i can now do in a few days... YAY me. Time to have MORE fun.
Be honest... hunting is a bit boring after a while. Leaves me time to milk and get eggs again (which for me was allways a fun part and will be again now i can get some decent amounts).

Frankly I don't. Too many games have gone down due to inbalance. As the Ranger community presented the data, it clearly showed it was NOT balanced (still isn't but that's another matter).
So to but it blunt, the TC version should never be forced/pushed to live this quick!

I think you mean to say: "They are the devs, we are the customers, we PAY THEIR BILLS".
As such, ignoring your customers is always a bad thing, and that is what is going on. Not only towards the Ranger community, but also the other professions. They will probably send messages to you, but after the data presented, we as community heard NOTHING, except the TY from Tiggs...

"You know for sure..." Well I believe you, but knowing and having a confirmation is something different. Maybe it's time for correpsondents together to step up a bit, and 'demand' at least acknowledgement of reported bugs... I reported many in-game but so far none has been addressed nor acknowledged. Ofcourse I don understand that certain issues will stay behind closed doors, but in a case as this, at least the devs/soe should have given you info what they would do about it. Now the only repsonse we got was from BigT, saying it will be looked upon it. Well great, but if this was done BEFORE the patch went life, a lot of bad feelings, frustrations and such would have been prevented.
Are you even taking into account the amount of time and I expect, restraint that whent into Bethya's post?
It did get a response, could of been worded better but did the job i supose.
In fact I think she worded it admirably. I'm glad I didn't cause I tend to be very strong minded and opiniated heheTo be honest, I don't think anyone but her could have said it any better.
