Why take this class at all?

Just a quick news flash for you Kypp, many of us rangers don't know the butt end of a rifle from the end with the hole in it. For use non-rifle users, many of the Ranger skills, ESPECIALLY the traps, come in mighty handy.

THAT"S why some of us take this class at all.

Again more traps and a wider variety of them, more specialized traps for different things, traps for creatures, traps for humnaoids, traps to help against mechanized attack vehicles. A commando and a ranger would be a great pair against these monstrosities.

The ewoks used ranger tactics on endor to combat the AT ST, they used traps. This would be a great crowning jewel for us and give us a place in pvp, it's a combat support role, highly specialized, something worthy of a class who are the masters of laying snares and traps of all sorts.

Another ability i'd like to have is cover tracks, something to make it harder for us to be tracked, this is star wars not deer hunter, we are not artisans, we are a combat support class, made effective when paired with a combat skill such as pistol/carbine/rifle or even commando, even bounty hunters take some of our skills. nobody should be able to sneak up on a ranger in his environment, this would help make us harder to find than the average bear and paired with tracking let us know who or what pursues us.

I am also personally angry we can no longer track pets, you think i'd miss the tracks of a grand wrix. torton or a rancor? You think we'd miss the obvious tracks of a behemoth like an AT ST?

And i love the idea of a camp that is hard to detect, a camoflauged camp, now that would not only help with aiding in hunting but help our chosen faction when in the field as setting up temporary bases of operations. This is something i feel we should be able to do, maybe even have a temporary encampment with a cloning center in it or bacta tanks to aid in healing faster when medics aren't present.

TSION:

You apparently missed the entire purpose of my post. But since you have the answers... please explain to me the benefit of throwing traps at all during PVP? That was the second part of my question that you neglected to voice an opinion on.

So... by your answer, the Ranger class is only a benefit to those who don't use ranged weapons? So if it is no benefit to a ranged weapon user, doesn't have that much of a benefit over a master scout, and you can't use traps in PVP, please enlighten us as to the benefit to taking this class?

To be honest I don't think we need any crown jewel thing or whatever. I am happy the way things are as long they don'tmess with our harvesting abilities!!

Now if they want to give us more units of meat, bones, and hidesthat I could live with.
