Thanks for the heads up calc. Sorry the messenger gets hammered every time.

My view on TH's post is if the Outdoorman's proposal, Nem0'sthread on the profession synopsis and SkevStarmu's post (in this thread) about the Ranger changes posted by Koster 8 months ago are not clear, concise and well reasoned enough, then I am really in the dark as to what he thinks needs to be better explained. What isgetting to him that is not thought out? I'm sure he's not in a position to give examples but what is it we want that is not covered in any, if not all, of the sources I cited above.

I think many people's frustration in this thread is less about no revamp/changes and more about the fact that there is more than enough material (just in the stickies!) that answer his "whys" as to what needs changing. I'm sure it leaves many wanting to throw up their hands and shout, "I don't get it, what is it you want?".

Maybe that's what you need to ask him. "What does he want that we do not already have well layed out, and listed in this forum?"

This thread backfired a little. I knew people would be angry at the news, but my hope was to let you know we weren't getting a revamp, but we COULD get some changes...

Keep hanging in there guys.

I hope most of us can appreciate what you were trying to do with this post Calc, at least give us something, even if it was a little old moldy cheese, it's better than starving to death. Turns out that old moldy piece of cheese ended up getting everyone sick, some of the less tenacious people will die from it too. Personally I hope you keep giving us as much cheese as you can manage to get from on high, I'll take it and be sick with everyone else.

Although it's a thankless job, I want to say along with everyone else that we appreciate the effort you put into being our Correspondent.I also don't envy the work you have ahead of you. I can imagine this thread hasn't put a glimmer in your eye to keep going, or keep telling us stuff either. One thing I am certain of is that while I know I'm certainly very capable of being the correspondent I know I'd never have accepted the title. NRass left at the right time, and you got stuck being the George Bush of the profession in a huge recession. I wound't expect you to continue working on our behalf with this kind of thread being generated to the crumbs you can give us.

On the other hand of course we do have problems. We do need help. We need fixing for things we should've recieved 8 months ago. I would like to reference an outstanding essay and State of the Profession report from Sintrosi back in October for the Droid Engineer profession http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=droid_engineer&message.id=33565and I'd like to say that the Ranger profession is at the lowest point it's been in since release. This little tidbit of information comes at a point where obviously a number of us can no longer continue to support one of the best Correspondents in the game, let alone the profession of Ranger, SWG or Sony Online.

I'm sorry Calc, I hope it does improve in the time you're still our Correspondent and I really hope you will get to revel in the day when you can say you made it happen.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

The amount of flaming in this thread goes beyond almost anything we have seen in the ranger forums that doesnt have the word jedi in it. Its all names of people who never post and must have been lurking in the background. You all seem to have missed the point of this thread entirely.

This isnt a bash TH thread. This isnt a bash SOE thread. This isnt a Rangers r teh Sck thread. Calc asked for something so we can get it. If you keep crying like kids we won't even get this small fix. There are plenty of other threads on the Ranger revamp where you can go stretch your flamethrowers. But lets get this back on track so we can at least get something.

That said

A clear and consise answer would be the math that was done showing that we arent that much of a greater harvester over a master scout. A smaller answer would be the approach of the droids which when they have harvesting modules are described as "A more precise set of tools used to remove the resource from the creature". So we as a ranger would know how to get that last little nth of meat off that nuna. We would know to look under the neck bone of a mawgax for a couple more units then a scout who hacks and slashs. Thats why we should get a bigger bonus because our knoweldge of butchery would make us that much more effective at what we do. This is knowledge we have learned from living in the woods and having to survive off of our abilities

But really I like the math one from earlier over this

Canon Fodder - The former Ranger/CH now unplayed Smuggler
Down to one account and thats only because its a station pass
Currently a Droid Commander in City of Villians (really)
