If you are losing harvests due to not reaching the corpse in time, you are in the wrong group. If this does happen, ask you group to slow down and if it continues to happen, leave them. I think that finding the right group is am important dynamic in MMORPGs; powergamers and relaxed gamers don't mix well.
I think this point is way more pertinant than a lot of people may realize.
Nerfburger posted some good hard numbers, but I think those are "perfect world" numbers. The reason is because of the corpse timers. I haven't done extensive testing but it seems that once a corpse is harvested, a countdown timer (lets say 30 seconds) starts until the corpse poofs. However, there seems to be a threshold around (extremely rough guess) 3-5 minutes where the corpse will immediately disappear once harvested. It's like the poof timer is set to "30 seconds from first harvest or 4 minutes from the time the MOB was killed, whichever is less". If the corpse isn't harvested, I think it sticks around for 6-8 minutes. This gives a combat master plenty of time to finish off low level lairs and waves of creatures on higher level lairs so a solo person can always harvest every corpse.
If your group can get in, knock down the lair, and harvest all the corpses in less than the 4 minutes (once again, that's a rough guess), you'll be fine. If you go beyond that insta-poof harvest point, members are going to start missing out on harvests and there goes your bonus right down the toilet.
I'm in agreement with LagSolo's statement "Not for nothing, but if I was still a Ranger, I would be out harvesting meat for myself in order to make money....there is no incentive for me to babysit other players who are harvesting meat.....doing that will take credits out of my pocket.". The time it takes to organize the group, then wait for everybody to diddle around with their droids, pull missions (if you aren't hunting wild), etc, would severely cut into the amount I could have harvested if I had just gone alone or popped into a solo group and pulled a couple missions on my way out of town in search of wild lairs. Also, forget about milking lairs with a group.
In a nutshell, this bonus looks significant on paper, but I don't see it having much of an affect in terms of actual gameplay.

I've posted on these harvesting inequities before. My belief that a Master Rangers harvest should be 3 or 4 times as much as a Master Scout looks to be about right looking back at the figures in posts on this thread. I like to compare differences in master medic and master doc, big ones.. if you look at the credits each can pull in. How is it a Master Scout with extra skillpoints builds a template of a fighter, and can kill faster than a ranger so thereby outharvest him? Sure credits aren't everything, but, skill wise a doc can do what a medic does with the flick of his finger.
It is wrong that a grouped 0040 can outharvest a master ranger. Should be close, but not outharvest him.
I've been a master ranger over a year or more, the best thing about this harvesting issue is, I'm spending a bit more time on the ranger board, and enjoying the threads...all the threads!!
