By the numbers that doesn't look like a very even distribution to me, granted ranged gets more recon options but still one would hope that these numbers might not be set in stone but unfortunately they will be since no one wants to give up their composite Battle Armor.

The point is that you can't change a professions' armor cert without a lot of problems. People spend lots of money on good armor, and switching it mid-stream doesn't make a lot of sense. Again, you have to realize that originally, these designations were set up for a completely different system and they didn't change it later on when plans changed. That is regrettable, but it's not fair to any group to change their certs.

If your proposed changing carbineer to recon (which would actually make more sense, since all the other ranged elite professions are recon) do you think they'd approve? I don't.

If they wanted to make it more balanced they'd have to allow people to change their armor to another type again. It's simply not right to change it at this point. And the fact is that he said "well, those people who want battle armor can just get another profession. That's what really shocked me. The idea that somebody else should have to do work to get what they want, but you should get what you want for free (recon cert). If you want recon, you can pick up a profession that has that cert. But telling people that you shouldn't have to do work, but they should is rediculously....gah. I don't want to insult anybody here, but that's just very un-ranger-like.
