By contrast, Bria looks like a bit of a disaster recently... Tat bristly and carn meat. Still, its better than Endor bones. gack.
Oh, but on the whole, yep, Ranger's worth it.

I have mastered ranger before, but this was WAY before any of the tracking skills and new adittions were added. With the addition of Veghash and harvesting droids, is it worth it to get Master Ranger?Any help is appreciated.
Excellent career choice
As to whether you need to master Ranger to be a professional hunter, the answer is probably not
Saying that, I am loving it being a Master Ranger

As long as you realize Rangers are not considered by the Devs as offensive in this game, unlike almost any other game that has Rangers. Master Ranger is a blast. Tracking, and camo are great. The traps are OK, and if in large groups the camps can be of use. You absolutely have to have either a brawler or ranged profession(s) in order to not only hunt respectably (since there aren't any direct offensive or fighting skills in the Ranger/Scout trees), and especially if you enjoy or desire to play a lot of PvE and especially PvP. So be sure you balance your character to how you enjoy playing the game.
Yes trapping and harvest droids are great if they exceed your level. They can be used while you are still fighing other creatures, and the food bonuses are good as well, and good BE clothing to assist you. Some do not like droids of any kind and that is there preference.
Yes if you use the fan crafting site to see what is dropping when and where you can make a very good living being a Ranger.

Ok, in fairness, for me it IS worth it
I make my money two ways
#1 is I spent the remaining SP's on Surveying. My main cash comes from finding and selling resources to Artisans of varying types
(the camo makes harvester placement soooo much easier, and you get hassled much less by NPCs)
#2 I have a few tailor friends that need all the hides they can get. I sell them lots of scaly & wooly hides
My other sidelines include
Hanging out w/ my BH friends and assisting them w/ Jedi hunting (Man Tracking is very useful for this, especially in a city)
Using NPC tracking foor people looking for specific mobs or groups of mobs
Using Animal tracking for folks doing quests Ilike finding that Boar on Tat
And yes, a harvester droid make a big diff, because you dont have to run down and harvest, risking aggro.
Ok so if all that makes you decide its worth it, then its worth it (no I am not filthy rich but I make my own way, and can afford to buy what I need with some to spare)

I'm going to say this, most Rangers you'll find on this board don't do Ranger for the money. Speaking for myself, I couldn't care less, I like the profession, and so the grind was worth it. I hold my Master Ranger with pride.
As for making money, the real money came from Avian meat (and milk). One rarely gets more than 10 CPU's for hides... With the recent changes to medic/doctor and those resource kits... the want for avian took a dive. The biggest benefit is gettin free schwag from those Chefs and Armorsmiths for helping them out (like free suits of good armor).
If you're looking for an alt that just makes money, go crafter. However, I welcome you to try Ranger. It is certainly an experience that I've enjoyed.

The big money comes with spending 99% of your time in the Pistoleer forums. Trust me, it works.
Oh, and say kazzoo a lot.
