They may do and probly will.

They can move camps down to scouts or they could move the ranger camps to SL as staging points for squads. Both make sense so up to the devs really.

The harvesting stuff i expect to be moved to scout

Im too drunk to comment on this so get ready for my evil meanderings tomorrow!

But anyway, WHAT, its like a big part of me has been cut out, my cynical view of the inherent futility of life has been severly degraded by this! Give us back borked ranger, I LIKE being a moany old fart!

Naysayers will not get PWNED till they actually implement. However, I like the new direction for Ranger and I get the impression that we will not need the entire scout tree to become a Ranger any longer. What will be interesting is how much Ranger is required for the Health DoTs. If it is too low a requirement we will see MBH/CM/Ranger templates I think

At any rate im overjoyed as a silent ranger. I dont post here but have been a ranger about 6 months now. Always liked the idea but they are so weak right now, and expansive and really nothing but harvesting abilites that seem to be useful. This kind of update is really gonna hit the spot. Maybe everyone wont want to be a BH in my guild after this.

Thats ok we also havent seen what we get this with this revamp. There is no mention of weapons. Ranger will still need other professions to complement it.

I'm sad to say that I was a naysayer and went so far as to drop my ranger skills and refused to touch anything scout related. And to think I dropped my template only two months ago.

My first template completed template was rifle/ranger and I always considered myself to be a paramilitary ranger and even found ways to use it in PvP before the CU. This is huge news to me and when it makes it to TC, I'll be spending a lot of time there.

Part of me is happy, but most of me is not. I enjoyed the wildlife and harvesting aspect of Ranger. I enjoyed the part they're steering the class away from. So long as they don't remove those parts I'll probably keep the profession, but if they do, then the class simply isn't Ranger anymore.

Many of the things that make ranger for you are actually hunter skills, which from what I read will still be part of scout. I know the idea of changes like these are scary to some, but many of these things are suggestions the ranger community has been asking for to make ranger something more than an uber-scout.

About the only thing that doesn't quite fit for meis the stealing skill, this feels more like a smuggler skill. I for oneanticipate the chance to learn more and test the concept.

Hey, I do and don't like the fact that they turned Ranger on it's arse. "Creature Centric" was from a Dev many moons ago. They must have been in the position where Ranger was part reconaissance and part creature, like the Squad Leader revamp it had two parts for the profession to focus on and the Devs emphasized on one of them. I don't understand why we can steal. Frankly that should go to the Smugglers. Perhaps they are testing it within our profession so they can push successful coding to the Smugglers, like what I thought about force cloak and /cover - it was testing the system for future uses. Now we finally have it. There is still much to be discussed and developed, but overall, I believe it is a very unique skill set. However, it is misplaced, as anti-personell sounds like Commando, and Theft sounds like Smuggler. Although, maybe those are just reasons to pair those professions with Ranger .

Wow...just wow. Looks like I am going to have to choose between smuggler and ranger again if this goes live.

As some of us said...we got some of what we wanted, we didn't get some of what we wanted, and we got some stuff that leaves us wondering what the devs were smoking! All in all, a typical revamp.
