Now i have more time to just put my ideas down in posts i hope to be heading off in a few directions that hopefully the devs will take note of. Ive always wondered if they have looked at this thread and the proposals it puts forward.I supose if we just keep working at our ideas and keep the thought in our mind that someday will be our day we will be ok and we will keep pushing on

Ranger is in a bad way but atleast we have ideas of what could fix us

Ranger is in worse dire straits then I already imagined if after having been the Ranger Correspondent it is still unclear to you as to whether the devs even review or take note of these idea threads. (Especially given they supposedly ask for them)

lol its no big suprise that the devs do not read every post in the forums Serraphin. They dont call you up in the night and say "hey man, Ranger 2.0, that was a nice read". Mainly their time is limited, other times they log in and have 1000's of posts to review. We have never had a dev come back and say he/she has read them all but they have stated they liked the ideas in some of the proposals and some of them were very exciting and creative reads.

It all depends if that information and creativity is taken on board. Thats the true question i would like to ask.

But given that the Correspondent at the time, Calc, said the devs requested this info why would they not be familiar with it and why wouldn't you as the Correspendent most recently know what their disposition of that proposal was? I believe the mighty TH ask Calc for the proposal then there was and has been silence ever since. The truth sadly is that this profession is sooooo far down on the radar in terms of importance that no matter what anyone says to be nice it isn't going to be getting any attention anytime soon. Ranger can continue to be neglected or even deleted with no real impact to SWG or SOE so why would anyone devote resources to it when they must constantly watch the competition. Fixing Ranger is not economically feasible given other high revenue items need those precious resources.

No, TH and Tiggs are not developers, they are community managers. They pass info onto the devs, so when TH asked for info or even when he took the outdoorsman and placed it on (the at that time boss) Tyrant's desk, we have know way of knowing if it had been read or even considered. They just dont give feedback like that.

Tiggs and TH are good at getting us info but they can only give us what they have access and can pull out of the devs. They are in the tough situation where they want to do this, this, this this and this, but the devs want this or dont have time to discuss this point so they cannot post info.

Its difficult and dont think being a corr means they talk your ear off everyday, it just doesnt happen that way and Calc will be the first one to stand up and say that (after jb who is tattooing it on passers-by).

Ive asked so many times, as have so many other players, how did the proposals we submitted go down. The most recent was the Ranger 2.0 doc that got a "its a very exciting and creative proposal" as comments for Tiggs and TH. Nothing ever came back from the devs though and this is what has frustrated many of the long time forums rangers for so long.

If Tiggs had info she would post it, if i had info i would post it. The devs simply do not use their communication chains effectively and allow Tiggs and TH to truely go to town.

Um, I forgot where we should place our ideas for revamps of various parts of our profession.

I'd like to know where to place this.

I was thinking of the following changes to creature harvesting.

Novice Scout:

Normal harvesting

Hunting 2:

Harvest Hide - even if you have already harvested a resource from the creature, you may harvest an additional amount of hide if you use this ability.

Hunting 4:

Harvest Bone - even if you have already harvested a resource from the creature, you may harvest an additional amount of bone if you use this ability.

Novice Ranger:

Tan Hide - the Ranger may use this ability every 30 minutes. If the creature's corpse you select this ability for is known to drop a loot known as Hide, you obtain a stack of5 with a bonus equal to the minimum of that type. This value increases with your creature knowledge skill, which will grant the highest possible bonus at Master Ranger.

Hunting 2 of Ranger:

Harvest Meat - even if you have already harvested a resource from the creature, you may harvest an additional amount ofmeat if you use this ability.

Pull Teeth - the Ranger may use this ability every 30 minutes. If the creature's corpse you select this ability for is known to drop a loot known as Teeth, you obtain a stack of5 with a bonus equal to the minimum of that type. This value increases with your creature knowledge skill, which will grant the highest possible bonus at Master Ranger.

Hunting 4 of Ranger:

Harvest Organs - the Ranger may use this ability every 30 minutes. If the creature's corpse you select this ability for is known to drop a loot based on bodily organs, not including hide, teeth or bones, you obtain a stack of5 with a bonus equal to the minimum of that type. This valueincreases with your creature knowledge skill, which will grant the highest possible bonus at Master Ranger.

Master Ranger:

(someone help me with the name ) - You have the ability to pick the best parts for your intentions. When you use the Tan Hide, Pull Teeth, or Harvest Organs ability, you will be given a choice between the stats of the loot. You will be able to chose which you would like to have as a the maximized or minimized stat. You will only be able to chose one of these stats, and it will give a bonus to that stat from the loot you would normally obtain while using the ability without making a selection of stats.

Input? Would this affect the economy? Should there be a higher cool-down timer?

I HAVE said that, but Serraphin either refuses to listen, or doesn't care. I have stopped trying to deal with him. You can't win em all, eh?

I HAVE repeatedly said that the correspondent position can accomplish nothing and Calc refuses to listen.

Oh he's listened, but that doesnt mean he has to accept it. The corr possition can do things and has done things. Its just its not as much as you want it to do. No the corr is not a developer, no the corr is not a mouthpiece nor earpiece of the devs.

Devs

Tiggs/TH

Corrs

Thats the order and without the corrs you wont have the communication of issues and desires you have at this time. Whether those issues and desires are acted upon is irrelivent, the corrs are not their to fix the game, they are to lay down to the devs, tiggs and TH what is broken and what needs fixing.

Sometimes things do get acted upon, other times they dont. The corr does a job and calc will do it very very well. Without him would be in much more hurt than we are now.

Thats the truth, accept if you want, if you dont want to accept it, then cant say im bothered mate heh.

Owen,

Despite what I post I have enjoyed you and Calc as corrs but the fact is without a corr we would be in no worse shape and therefore the position is not warranted other then for egos sake.

Well if you think me and calc picked up the gig for the badge then your wrong but go ahead and believe that, cant say im bothered too much man. I know that having a good corr makes a big difference and we would be in one hell of a worse place that we are now if we didnt have one.

But i supose ranger templatesbeing level 54 would of been a possitive right? Perhaps rangers only having 2.5k health would of been fun? Hmm, yeah i do agree that camo being removed in combat was fun and yeah not having kashyyyk camo or even a camo ability was an amazing experience. Not being able to level up trapping was a bunch of laughs, as was the concept of rangers not contributing to group harvest bonuses. Oh yeah i almost forgot, that bonus to harvesting at master ranger we could really of done without. Man looking back i should of just kept my mouth shut, the devs didnt need to know really, we were fine without the changes.

Rock on Owen!!

Hey can you please suggest that Rangers gain the Composite Armor Certification> We do most of our work around creatures and those critters do kinetic damage. A high kinetic resist suit of Composite Armor would help a great deal.

You can get armor into high kinetic resist with the right resources. I've got a 6k suit of Assault and a 6k suit of Battle. What's the big deal?
