Joysticks? We don't need no stinking joysticks!
I made it through all the Descent series using only W/S/A/D and a two-button mouse!
Damn. Do you think JTL will be able to use a joystick? I may have to purchase the hardware just to be competitive in battle.
Will we be able to use them in regular SWG? (Can we already?) Moving Paks around will be like driving a mech lol!

Paks,
Descent?! Ah that brings back memories. Should we start with "back in my day..."

Vorpaks that's just wrong. I'm considering training a horde of Kreetles through your camp. I've tried Descent with the mouse/keys, but it just doesn't feel right. Flightstick with a throttle is the best. So far I haven't found one better than the Saitek X-36.

But the rumors are that the driver for the $350 Star Wars Special Edition Cougar includes a bit of code to unlock your force sensitve slot.

Many here are missing the point. We were lied to people. JTL supposedly had its own development team. Now we find out that 50% of our devs are working on JTL and now 100% will be. This is outrageous. Im paying to play SWG, not JTL. In fact I have no interest in ever playing JTL. My money should be going to fixing rangers, smugglers, gungan sacred place, adding stuff to jawa fortress, ewok villages, MORE PLANETS (remember devs mentioning that too for expansion) and more.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
Me. I'm going to keep paying my 10quid or so a month, going to keep playing my X hours a week and will take new content and development as it arrives. I'm tired of giving myself an ulcer stressing over things that are outside my control.
Actually, now Ithink about it, I've got nothing to add to this thread that wouldn't be seen by at least one faction as throwing combustibles on, so I'll just shut up and go make the post I meant to....

Calc,
I was talking to my wife about it. And I was thinking the same thing about speed. But I thought the devs, and i have been wrong many many times today, said that you would have the option of launching into space or going directly to your target. So that your not a target always.
Vorpaks,
I was thinking the same thing. Back i heard it was mouse based it made all the sense in the world. Now of course who knows. But that would be a good basis.
Wizard of Oz,
Really I need a brain and courage
Just cause you can avoid going into the combat sector and avoid space doesn't mean there won't be a timer to go to the next planet.
I don't know tho, guess we will find out.

If you guys want a sneak peak at what I think JTL will be like, pick up the game FreeLancer. If I can find my screenshots from that game I will post them. I LOVED that game.
Yep, Freelancer was da-bomb for flight sims.
Just wish it was more re-playable.
IF they do the space sectors as well as Freelancer, JTL will seriously rock.

Anyone play Escape Velocity?
Actually I didn't even play the actual game of FreeLancer so I don't know about replayablity. I forget what mission I stopped at but I jumped ship and went Multiplayer. With my a bunch of friends along we terrorized the spacelanes. Well, they terrorized, I ran recon. They had some amazing maps. My best moment ever was crossing the rim and fighting the glowy nomads. I really felt like the ultimate explorer then.
I hope there is a lot os space in JTL for this Ranger to explore.

I see people complain a lot. Sure there are things to complain about, but at what price.
1. People complain that there are a lot of problems, broken professions, need for combat balancing, etc. All fixes to old content that we know exist in teh current game.
2. People want new content, JTL-ships, space, Earth & Beyond-ish, they want new types of content to the old game, aka better or modified or new types of camps for us rangers, TKS would like to see different damage other than kinetic/heat, musicians want new songs, dancers wantnew dances, etc.
3. People wanted1 and 2 done yesterday.
4. People thinkit can be done in a patch tomorrow. Or at least argue that they won't wait any longer than that.
___
1. SOE knows things need to be fixed, and while not fast enough for anyone, will in due time.
2. SOE has new content, expansions lined up and close to coming out, old content and new modifications, and add-ons.
3. SOE has not done it yesterday.
4. SOE knows it won't be tommorow. SOE knows if it was done tomorrow, sure it can fix some things, but that will only give rise to expected, and unexpected problems to add to the plate.
___
When SOE doesoblige the populace with quick fixes, and as expected, it causes as much problems, if not more, everyone and there grandmother shout "Roll back!". Now they are more than willing to except the old problems, in light of the new ones, that ....wait for it....TAKE TIME!to fix.
But the sheep (lol) have short term memory loss of about a month. By then old posts are archived, and everyone shouts the same problems. So SOE doesn't rollback "fixes". More over, they rarely jump the gun to "please" the populace, whom will, with utterly zero doubt, complain anyway.
On more than one occasion, more like three, I have let my account go into hiatus for a couple months, while I wait for changes to be made that I see necessary (before I tried the combat template and rangers, which is too much fun, and only knew SWG from a Master Entertainer/Master musician p-o-v.) So while I understand this thread poster's point of view, I did not shout boycott, or similar too, but just went quietly. If you don't like whats happenning now, there are many other servers, in which...droid engineer, or chef, could be fun for a month or two-the time you would be huffing and puffing away while watching your TiVo and missing SWG and the endless professions it offers rather than the same ol' hack n' slash of most MMOG's.
However, as I see the case, and as it seems just about every other person who has sampled the ranger way of life in the Galaxies, we're content to play in our "broken" profession and living our way of life, not our job in this game-supposed-to-be-fun. =)
