I was mad when read about the NGE, and what was going to happen to us. Then Ranger in me came out and I was heartbroken on what is happening to the other travelers. Always thinking of others first I think is a aspect of a Ranger.

We have traveled the planets making our own path, our own way. Always being able to use what was given to us (which was very little) to survive. Survive alone, or help out others who were lost trying to find thier way. Helping the new travelers to our beloved Galaxies, on whatever path they chose. We never asked for much, but immensly appreciated what was bestowed upon us any given day. A new adventure, a new friend, a camp with an extra chair for that wearysoul needing to warm up by a fire. Wether spoken outload, or in silence a new friend was made.

Our names are the epitimy of Ranger. Hunters, combat, explorers, crafters, scientists (BE), no matter what we are Rangers first.

We have argued and laughed together. Even the ones that leftwere always welcome here, because deep inside the Ranger stays with us.

I am not sure what is going to happen with Hon. Time will tell. I would like to say this to all professions.

If you choose to stay.....May your journey be grand, and the path rise to meet your feet.

If you choose to go........Friend or Foe, may we all meet again as brothers "In a galaxy far far away"

With a heavy heart I bid you all Farewell.

/ranger salute to all

I officiallybecome an SWG Refugee on the 15th of November 2005 or when NGE goes live, whichever comes last. If there is going to be a final Ranger do on Chilastra email Klee'Ratanph, I'll be on there until the bitter end.

I am going on to the Face of Mankind Open Beta and will be checking out Anarchy online also. For those of you staying on, well, good luck, hope the on rushing console crowd doesn't ruin everything, but I am sure they will all want to be Jedi.

/sigh

There just isn't anything more to say.... Except, goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

One more for the road rangers I can't imagine playing this new system....I stuck around because of promises of rangers getting better. Elimination is not better. So /salute to all who have worn the ranger tags through the years and I leave with only one regret; not playing this game sooner.

Would like to givea /kowtow to all those rangers on naritus especially cryos, unjor, and al'djinni.

Ranger upgrade was about the only thing left helping me keep interest in this game. Day after day I grow tiresome of it already, because most of it is purely combat dedicated already. I play for 30minutes on my main char and I get bored.

I have played since August '04 and scout/ranger have always helped me appreciate the wilderness as did hunting animals for creds. Already my High Tech field bases are broken and i believe the whole time they where attemption to transition us over to combat/action gendre form of the game. As a Ranger, I have felt somewhat useless in a world of PvPers and exp groups. I have never dropped Ranger, even after the CU never chose to dabble in other profs with the respecs but news of this catastrophy is the straw that will brake this cammels back.

If I wanted an online action/shooter game there are many flavor of the month games out there i could have chose two or 3 times for the same amount or less money I invested in this game.

From the depths of the Antarian Rangers of Ahazi; /Tiphat to you all.

I was really looking forward to the new ranger revamp. I suppose I will stick around to check out this NGE, but the way SOE has handled this whole situation disgusts me. I'll be keeping my Master Ranger title up no matter what new "class" I decide to try.

I will be around. My account may not be active and I may not be able to post but just be aware I'm around reading, ranting and crossing my fingers for the Rangers that were, the Rangers of today and the Rangers of tomorrow. Now, more than ever Ranger is a lifestyle. Not a profession.

I pass on kindly thanks and good wishes to the great Rangers I have played and posted with. Truly the creme of the crop of any mmorpg.

My account will be active for 3 days after the NGE hits live. I will check it out and make my final decision on it. I have played a bit today on TC but honestly I cant tell if some of the stuff is changes or bugs.

If your out and about in the wilderness in any game and you see a campfire tended by kairaene, kaitan or tagen. That would be me. I hope to see alot of you in DnL. Where true exploration I hope will come into its own with the great Ranger brethren of yesterday to lead the way.

Good luck friends.

Yeah, so long all, it was great hunting with you.

I plan on at lest trying the new system, but as of now I haven't read one single thing I like about it. When the CU came out, I at least found a handful of things to like. I've always said that I wouldn't play if I couldn't be a Ranger.... So I'll try it just for the heck of it... I feel that I should have actual experiance and a reason to not like something, and not respond in anger based on rumors, but I don't plan on staying.

On top of that, is the major issue that Rangers have been deliberitly lied to and betrayed. There is no excuse for that.

See you around, and happy trails,

What a sad sad day.....

From an old tired ranger stil sitting in some cave on Endor telling tales of the past, the mighty Calculus laid low by a herd of giant kreetles, the beautiful Pax smiling as she ran the wilds with us crazy ranger folks, I've never seen a cuter wookie....well, time fades the memories yes? *wink*

Arill Onahe, ranger, its a way of life not a profession

If anyone finds themselves on EQ2, the Lucan De'Lere server, look for a young high elf ranger called Arill, I'm sure she would love to say hello.

This is a great community. I hate to see things fly out of whack like they seem to be now. I'm not sure where I'll end up quite honestly. I'm waiting for the fat lady before I give up, but I'm bothered by that really large shadow I see behind the curtian. Some of the Antarian Rangers on Flurry are giving Eve a test spin at the moment. So maybewe'll migrate there.

I never posted much, (normally because someone always said it for me) but I have always been here. Wherever I do end up, I'll be sure to look up thethe SWG Rangerrefugees.

Thanks for all the good times on this forum.

Hmm I had canceled my accounts before this NGE thing was announced, but I think I will subscribe for one more month with my main to see where this game is heading. My impressions on TC are not enough to make a valid judgement.

I'm waiting for Dark and Light right now, or better, Settlers of Ganareth. Looking at the screenshots gives me this rangery feeling - to go out there and explore, climb that mountain, cross those plains... well, you know what I mean

I just hope that DnL will be released and that it will work they way it looks like.

Ranger / Rifleman has always been my favorite combo since BETA. It's sad to see the class go in this way, but I suppose atleast now we will no longer have to put up with the humiliation of being made redundent except for personal enjoyment of the class. Like so many things in this game, Ranger had an aweful lot of potential that was wasted due to neglect and revamps for portions of the game that needed no major fixxing.

Anyway for what it's worth, maybe parts of what a Ranger should have been will be integrated into one of the NGE professions; Commando perhaps or Spy even. Maybe even Officer. It's hard to say, and since I haven't tested any portion of this NEW GAME (it's not a revamp, enhancement, upgrade or anything else they wanna call it) I really can't say for sure.

Anyway, it's been fun regardless and after having regrinded Master Ranger on three separate occasions, I have to say I have no regrets about my time spent doing so. It was perhaps the MOST FULLFILLING aspect of the entire game. Crafting was a close second and entertaining was a distant third. Although I enjoyed the original combat system best so far, it really was in a different catagory to the game. Combat was the root of it all and the other things were the REAL enhancements.

Anyway hats off to all you Rangers and hope to see ya guys in other games thathopefully take a look at what happened with the SWG experience and create something similar to the original vision for SWG.

Master Ranger (Intrepid server)

Fellow Rangers, I am just completely blown awayby this latest endeavor by SOE. We surely were not the most popular profession but we surely were the most ignored and this is how it ends. I've been a part of SWG since the day it launched and I've had more patience with thedevsthen most that have graced the servers of SWG, but I think may patience may have just run out. However, I will go out asa Ranger would. I'm going to check out that "rabbit hole" myself for a little while, but I can see mypath taking me toD&D, LOTR or Star Trek in the near future. Good luck to you all!In parting, I'll leave you withsome of the sayingsthat got associated to us along with some of the questions I was asked by other players when sitting around a camp/base, let's chuckle with fond memories of a great profession!

"Ranger it's not a profession,it's a state of mind"

"No you can't train it! Iharvested it!"

" Aren't you going to finish your foraged grubs?"

"Wow, this camp rocks! Yep, it's a field base"

" How come I can't get in the tent?"

"Your camp is bugged bro, the game table don't work"

"Why is itraining in here?"

" Can I get these tables and chairs for my house?"

" I used to be able to make these (speaking about a field base)! Dang holorcron!"

1st day the infinity server opened, Tony Weyland became a Scout
1st Elite profession mastered was Ranger.
I guess it's in the blood.

Haven't played in a few months - haven't played much at all since the combat downgrade, instead I've got my Hunter/Leatherworker in World of Warcraft up to level 60 - that's about as close to a Ranger/CH in WoW as you'll get I suppose :-/

Dorrin on the Silvermoon server if there's anyone else out there.

See you all for the last GRM this weekend.
