Thread: The million Monkey posts (or how everyone learned to stop worrying and love the Ranger)
To avoid any rash postings on other forums, I think these steps would be wise to consider and review.
If the community consensus is to post on the profession forums rather than the galaxy forums, we would be best to wait until we have a correspondent because this would avoid sending mixed signals to the other professions. I know that the willingness to post on the other forums is commendable, the last thing that any of us would want is for one posting to contradict another posting in another forum. Once a message is posted on the crafting profession forums, there will be a huge influx of the crafting profession players posting on our forums to comment on our idea. Without a correspondent, there will be no moderator to those threads and the potential for the thread to turn into chaos is pretty high.
Once we have a correspondent, we will draft a proposal that will first be submitted to the correspondents of the crafting professions that we want to target for support. I think that it would be presumptuous for the ranger correspondent to wantonly post a suggestion on another profession's forums without giving their correspondent at the very least a "heads up". Without that "heads up", we put their correspondent in an unenviable position to have a huge response to the idea and I for one would like the other correspondent to be prepared for it.
Once their correspondent has been given the "heads up" the new Ranger Correspondent will copy/ paste the Rangers' proposal to their communities, with the appropriate title for the heading. Having the Ranger Correspondent post the message lends a weight to the proposal that we dont have right now, and that person would be responsible for monitoring and moderating (with the help of the target profession's correspondent) the thread.
I am just as concerned as the rest of the Rangers to make our voices heard, however, lets organize that voice and make that voice appropriate to the situation.
Most of you know that there are a few candidates for the Correspondent position (including myself) and while I can only speak for myself, this is how I would proceed with the proposal whether or not I had applied to the position. I cant imagine waiting for too much longer for a decision by the devs as to who our Correspondent will be, so I would be patient for a little bit longer, and this proposal be one of the first things that the new Correspondent address with the support of the community.
Let me know what you think...as always, my ideas are subject to peer review
thanks again

[some other random stuff from the first post of this thread]
This statement would be posted to all the appropriate crafter forums by whomever the devs decide to make our correspondent (we should also see if Delta is willing to help us in this--I'm guessing he would). It would also be posted to all the Galaxy forums by a member of that galaxy's community. Our correspondent would ask the correspondent of the crafter communities to sticky the post (or do what they think is most likely to get the post seen). Each post made would have a representative of this community responsible for answering questions that come upand for raising any relevant concerns in a post to our community (I hope there are enough of us to go around. If not, I hope some people are willing to do double shifts). This should increase our visibilty much more than any live event would. And it allows everyone to take part. Is anyone interested?

Just thought I'd point out that I always wanted it to be posted by our new correspondent
. As for giving the other correspondents a heads up, that was also mentioned but I think you are right about giving them a bit of extra time to prepare. Just posting it and sending a PM at the same time would be a little rude. The additional people are needed to help answer questions brought up on those posts (I didn't want to make the correspondent responsible for everything). The actual post by the correspondent would contain the names of the people helping on that forum (at least in the provisional letter given earlier in the message). I believe this is probably the first time any group on these boards will be doing something like this (I know individuals have but I haven't seen any group efforts like this yet) so we want to make sure it's done right. As for the actual letter to send, does anyone have any suggestions other than the one given above (in multiple parts, one is a letter, the other is a bullet point listing of the important points)? The idea of this thread is to have as much as we can done before we have a correspondent so that things can move quickly forward from there.

WhatAgon said. I think this will be much more beneficial than a strike or a march. It would protect the economy, and show that we are still mature.
Screw the economy. I barely take part in it (except for weapons [vibro knucklers]) I want my profession fixed damn it. Let others worry about the crappy economy later.
Who knows, this might be the fix the economy needed.
