Thread: Kashyyyk (**SPOILERS**)
Have to agree here. This I my biggest peave with Kashyyyk. It feels likeyou're on some themepark riderather than the real safari I'd hope for

The first thing I did when I landed on Kashyyyk was to try and run up the nearest hill to get a view if the area. Only to find invisible walls. They seems to be common in the area around the starport.

Bad thing: I can't run over hills! I got used to running over every hill or mountain, now my nose is flat from hitting walls.
Yes you have to go into space and fight a few tier 3/4 Chiss fighters. There were pretty tough unless I'm just rusty

I want to get into the hunting grounds but from what I can tell through speaking to people you have to do space missions to get entry. Is this correct or can you gain entry by just doing ground based missions?

Well that's not very good for an out and out Ranger/Hunter my space skills are just not up to that kind of level and I have no friends who do the space thing either....![]()
Oh well I'm sure that there's other content to grab my attention.

Mid to highlevel. CL 80ish stuff is for example in the avatar platform or the blackscale slaver camp.

I agree.. that's what I was thinking. Also /areatrack is really useful in many of these quests. I was doing missions with only 4000 scout and was really missing the ability to track. It's not as essential as the hero quest, but it can help.
Before RoTW, we only had Matt Rags and the hero quest as ranger style "content"... now there's almost an entire planet of rangery quests.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm having the time of my life here! I didn't get much done, but the quests I did do (mostly the myndril (sp?) caverns) ones seemed very in-depth and engaging. I really think the devs did a good job with this one!

Absolutely agree. I think I wandered around last night for only about an hour, ended up with something like 15 or 20 "quests" in my quest journal that I'm in various stages of working through. My only gripe at this point is that I need to get the time to get out, buy a new joystick, and finally finish up my pilot training - going 2-2-2-2 up against those Tier 3 & 4 NPCs, well... my poor little TIE didn't stand a chance. Hehehe. Gotta get off my butt, hook up with one of the master guildies, and just get it done.
The quest content is amazing. MUCH more engaging and interesting than "go out to waypoint X, kill a creature, come back to me for some crappy loot", and they actually require you to look around for things, try and find them - it's great. No waypoints, in some cases you even have to pay attention to EXACTLY what the person giving you a quest looks like to be able to talk to others down the road...
And don't some of the new armor schematics take optional things like "feather enhancements" and such? I thought I saw that during the beta on TC-EP3...
And as far as Chiss poachers go, I was shooting them any chance I got. Poaching is for looooosers. I realy do like the fact that this expansion is very hunter centric, I feel at home here. Am actually rather glad nobody will be able to set up cities here.
Still wish I could live on Dath though.

I love this planet. The artwork is awesome and the creature loot is refreshingly new. Albiet, it tends to stink up your ruck sack a bit

hehe - agree about the loot - towardsthe end of the night I was asking myself, do I really need this blue potion or will another skull look cooler in my house. Some of it stacks, though - which is nice.

Got into the hunting grounds last night. Looks like the Rodians will have a lot for you to do, and the firstarea of the grounds can be a real maze. Also turns out you cannotmake use ofspeeders inside, but that does make a good case for mounts, they will be often used inside, and I made a good escape afterdoing my part to eliminate the threat of diseased ullers. Campsarestill allowedthough, very nice. There is a lot of Combat upgrade loot content up there from what my guildmates were talking about. Very strong Clone armor, Jawa ion pistols, Proton carbines.
My impressions say that the hunting grounds and much of Kashyyyk was meant to be right up the alley of Rangers but by no means exclusive to them. The loot will make nice additions to a ranger collection, and you all wanted trophies and you got them. The Bantha one is fricken huge, no idea where I found it, though I only did the hunting ground quest.
The creatures are very easy, but just watch out for the river going north of the starport, hostiles there that will KD you, destroy your speeder and incap you. I got lucky and got out on my flash after healing up without moving or getting re-aggroed.
