Well. was Rifleman Ranger. Thats Matser of boath with Min CH to ride and Harvest with a droid.

My Ranger toon has fallen to disuse and has gone M Smuggler Master Artisen. No scout nothing. Maybe if they Fix figureout or what ever to this Prof id grab it back. But as for now it useless waste to me.

Pre-CU: Ranger 0444, Smuggler 4404, Medic 1100

Post-CU: Ranger 0040, Smuggler 4404, Brawler 4400, Marksman 4442

I just couldn't see holding on to camping or trapping lines after the CU hit. Most of my friends in-game quit and my guild was disbanded when the CU went live, so I found myself having to adapt to more solo orientedplaystyle. I have a few more respecs left but I think I am pretty much set on this skill set.

I found that MR/MRM was still a viable if unexciting mix. Toss a trap, shoot, toss a trap, shoot shoot shoot, dead critter/NPC. So I dropped down part of Ranger (it added no tangible benefits to the combat skill of my toon and I hunt a LOT less now) took a bit of BH to get a KD/Dizzy shot and that gave me a little more flexibility.

Now its bleed, trap, trap, blast blast, dead.

Thing to watch is how high you can get your accuracy and your defences. It's the difference between those stats on you and the target that make the difference now. As a lippy nouveau-uber BH found out in Bestine today.

(On a side note, the key number on your weapons now is where it says 'your modified DPS'. It's how much damage your weapon will do in your hands given all your mods. I've got two laser rifles that outdo my T21 by a clear 25% and, on another toon, what was a 'mediochre' Ryyk blade now chucks out 450dps.

Happy I am.

LOL

Come on back, give it a try, give yourself time to get used to it and then decide.

Master Swordman/Ranger 0010

I dropped Ranger on my SS toon to do more PvP, and from what I've seen, Pistoleer still compliments Fencer just fine. I really haven't logged into my Flurry character cause of my time spent on SS. I like Ranger, still, as someone else said, it's a lifestyle. But I hope that the devs do more for us, as we've all waited patiently to get some more love.

Pre CU:
Master Ranger
Rifleman 0,2,0,4
Medic 0,0,0,1
CH 0,2,0,4

Post CU:
Master Ranger
Rifleman 2,0,1,4 - conceal shot is gimped now and I have found sniper shot to be better
Medic 0,4,3,0

I dropped my CH skills and picked up more Medic to aid more in the group support role that I normally take lobbing traps and now heals as well
I could never give up Ranger I just have too much fun

Pre-CU:
Ranger 4040
Master Smuggler (in progress)
Novice Medic

Post-CU:
Master Smuggler
Master Carbineer
Scout 4030

I chose this because I've always wanted to be a Smuggler and I think it's a great role playing profession. I chose Carbineer because it has an increased damage potential over Pistoleer. Finally, I kept some Scout so I could maintain my "front" business of MacLeod Hunting & Adventuring.

Trying to find a useful template that was still fun seemed to be a real chore for me. I was really hoping for more tactical combat with the CU, but it feels like we've traded one style of button mashing for another. Anyway, the above template seems to do it for meas of now. A little bit of crafting, a little combat, all around scoundrel. It is great hunting critters with a 45 sec root (concussion shot). Just had to keep the camps forshow (and wounds)and the added trapping mods for my p-darts.

Pre CU: Master Ranger/Master Rifle
Post CU:Master Ranger/Master Rifle

I'm too lazy and I dont need the most efficient template. I tried to play like Pre CU and it worked well enough for me to stay like I was.

But I'm still looking forward to our revamp and I really hope we get a lot of the things we came up here .

I had been TKM 0040 Ranger for quite some time while dabbling in 4000 Commando(briefly) and also dabbled in Doctor for a bit. When the CU was coming I knew hunting/leveling would be nerfed so I went back to Master Rifleman/Master Ranger and even (stupidly enough) dropped 3 boxes of FS skills so I could master both and used my last 4 points in the survival line and one box of luck. If I had new I could bank alot of xp I wouldnt have trained up so many. But then again I didnt know the prereqs for Rifleman were going to change either.

So, Before April 28th I was Master Ranger/Master Rifleman. After the CU I have never respec'd and am still Master Ranger/Master Rifleman. Was tempted to respec to some medic but would rather hang onto my Master Ranger tag.

When I made Master Ranger again just before the CU hit I was finishing up some Rifleman on Dant.. getting a buff and the doc actually said: "Wow! A Master Ranger! Havent seen one of them in quite a while." I said "Yeah, I'm thinking of signing up with the museum tour."

I like being rare.

I dropped a lot of FS skills so I could keep ranger and master carbines, then 4x xp week came and I realized that if I hadn't have dropped all those FS skills I could have probably unlocked - ouch. Well, I didn't really want to play a jedi on this char., and I spent some qulity with my alt filling all four boxes of the FS crafting tree that week, so he only needs two more branches to unlock if I decide to go jedi.

So, I'm going to keep master ranger / master carbines for a while, but like you guys I'm thinking about dropping to something that is more self-sufficient. But I'm going to hold out for a few more weeks and see how things turn out.

POST-CU:

Master Ranger/Master SL/Marksman 0044/FS

I tried to keep TK, but died a few times...like I had no armor on at all. I respecced to MPikes, but it didn't work like my Radiant Pike toon, so I ignored Ehor for a while and then played with the CU character builder. I found out that I could get Squad Leader and if I decide to grind up Jedi I can start dropping the carbine tree in Marksman, and eventually SL when I unlock. I don't know how viable in combat this may be but I am more spontaneous than a planner. Everytime I plan something it never gets done, or I forget...etc. So I went MSL that next morning after playing with the builder, and that same day I got to use the skills with a group of Jedi. I harvested almost 60k of hide on what they were killing, and I know I missed some because my macro to harvest stopped working and it was a couple of lairs before I figured it out.

I like to solo sometimes, but grouping is more my thing so this template is a good group maker. If I start the group there will be no probs I think (at CL 80) when they find out I am a Ranger AND a Squad Leader! Plus I am the only Ranger in my guild at the moment, so I couldn't take away their only means of mass resource gathering.
