Had already decided, preCU that some of ranger would have to go, decision to strip it back in favour of Rifleman was made when I realised I needed to up my killing power more than keep my harvest rate.

Toon was 'in limbo' waiting to see what I was going to do with him. The 4x XP week helped.

Poor sod has been in limbo since my TC installation died. Waiting to see if a patch goes thru SOON or will have to spend a night patching. Oh. The. Joy.
So. While my main, my 'real' Ranger has been mashed beyond all recognition, I've still got a few baby rangers dotted about here and there. That having been said, I'm not hunting, other than to get scout XP for the village and if it wasn't for some daft sentimental attachmnt to rangerdom I'd have all-combat toons.

I respeced because I had three rangers and I was burned out on harvesting.
I wanted to get more involved in the GCW, and finally have a template that was useful in PvP and PvE. That's why I respeced my Kauri template. I'm really having a lot of fun with it. I respeced only once and haven't thought about switching to anything other than this. I love the accuracy mod (298 with rifles equipped!), and when I switch to carbines I have better defense for close range combat.
It's also fun mowing down opponents with two different strafe shots.. The Faction Points flow like a river
My Wanderhome ranger stayed the same.
My TC ranger respeced from master ranger and swords but only to trade some boxes for rifles. I can easily grind back the scout xp boxes, but I wanted to take the opportunity to switch to rifles without grinding up from novice. Eventually he'll be Master Ranger, Master Rifleman.
Still, I miss my T21 rifles....!
I dropped a dollar, so if anyone finds it, tis mine.
Dropped Master Pistoleer and Novice Medic and got MBH and some FS and some marksman boxes in carbine. Have all my Ranger still. But as I have said, when it's time for Jedi, bye bye camping.

Master Ranger \ Master Riflemen Luck 4 dropped force skill to keep Master Riflemen Title.
I can still solo what I hunt, I am just alittle slower at killing my target now.
I throw P-darts alot more now and instead of making them as needed I have a factory running them off for me now.
The rest of th traps I still make by hand as needed.

Reasons:
1. Master Ranger/Master Squad Leader just did not work anymore. Solo, I was getting incapped by level 40 mobs (admittedly, this was still in Beta but I made my decision then). When grouped, I gave almost no benefit.
2. Master Squad Leader takes up a lot less skill points than Master Ranger and adds a lot more to the template.
3. This template leaves me enough free skill points that I can pick up 6 FS trees and get a free alt while keeping the majority of my template. This lets me keep a useful character while getting a Ranger alt on my main server.
4. I get most of the trap effects as skills (or something quite similar at least).
5. Harvesting is easier than pre CU (I don't hunt specifically for resources but I still ended up with over 100k of stuff in a couple of days).
6. This template works quite well in 1v1 and ManyVMany PvP.
7. This template works quite well in 1v1 and ManyVMany PvE.
8. It's fairly safe to go almost anywhere without maskscent or camo without needing buffs or armor.
9. I don't really need to wear armor except on the hardest stuff (i.e. when I expect to be tanking level 80+ elites without a medic).
10. I'd go on but it would just make me feel sadder.
