Always keep in mind... If you're hunting something like a Rancor, you've spent 12k-20k in buffs, and it'll still take you 5-10 minutes to kill the damned thing (alone anyway) and I assume that Rancors'll give you between 75-100 hides (please, someone confirm?).

Ah the rancor hunting. I have to respectfully disagree with you here Lunga. I pay 12k for buffs, but they're free now that I've joined a new guild! I collect between 400 and 700 units of hide/meat/bone off of EACH rancor. As a swordsman, I can take down 5 Enraged Bulls aggroing me in a few short minutes with only a bit of dizzy and maybe a small bleed in the end. In a full buff session I can comfortably collect over 40k of any 1 resource. If the spawn is good, I can sell this stuff from anywhere between 30 and 60 CPU and my server (naritus) has one of the least inflated economies in SWG.
spending a few creds on buffs and food is WELL worth it when you get this much harvest in return.
However, this is just me and my humble opinion. Some like to hunt unbuffed while others simply have a preference for certain planets or spawns. To each his own I say.

... in light of this new info, I have to agree. 700-900 hides?? Wow. That's awesome.
I don't know anyone on Intrepid that would pay 60CPU for hides though... Maybe I've been getting jipped.

Oh... and it was 400-700 units per harvest, not 700-900.

If you just go out and start hunting whatever happens to be there on Dath, and you run across a rancor lair, You will be able to collect the huge amounts of hide or meat off of them. My toon is human and i can harvest 300-600 off of them easily, with veghash,the harvest really kicks a$$. Just remember that you cannot be grouped when you start your harvesting , or it gimps thehell out of you. Also, kamuriths are actually easier to kill, provide about 200-300 units per critter , and you don't have to be buffed to take them out.

How are you getting 400-700? As a master veghash using 30 veghash im getting 321 solo on bulls and ancient bulls. Even with the FS Survival bonus and assuming your a trandoshan on top of that. Maybe just maybe you'd see 350.
