like many people in this post have said huting is work. that being said i think we will see a price drop at first cus the docs and others see a way to put a little more money in their pocket( i can see it now you can harvest alot more now so i'm gonna pay you less and still charge the same amount for my services) this will only fly if we let it. Now if the end product drops in price i think a price in resorce cost is fine but get real that's not gonna happen. Besides i know on shadowfire noone can ever get enough of a good spawn(unless it's dath carnivor and is in spawn for 2 weeks lol).

Well, in a brief visit to Eisley tonight I got asked to train two people in Tracking II/III and one in Wilderness wotsits, the camping line.

Neither trapper was looking to go full MR, the increase they can give to their group / earn themselves seemed to be the attraction.

Now, I don't think two trackers make us FotM but...

Case in point -

Lokian avian had 3 stats all over 900. Starting price was 250cpu. Everyone who could harvest did.

No glut, the docs went broke, no kidding. And could not afford to buy anymore. Then and only then did the price drop.

And I have how much stockpiled for next month?

I agree that prices won't drop right away. But eventually people will be able to stockpile resources, the best ones, so that they won't have to buy those average one's at 30CPU or whatever. Gor example i have a stockpile of Wooly hide because we had 3 great spawns in a row, now my alt is an AS. So if a a good but not great wooly hide comes along in the next few months, i won't be willing to pay for that because i have a ton of wooley hide.

That's just one person, now what happens when a lot of people do this. The prcies will gradually fall because this patch will allow servers to build up a better supply.

I don't know if there will be a problem, but i am sure that prices will drop in the long term

Its hopping on stuff like this before I start geting spam about it that has made me rich. Any thing less than 75 cpu and I'm hunting for my self or in space. This is your play time people. Leave the 20 cpu stuff for the Novice Scouts.

Some people compare Creature resources and Machine harvestables. Apples and oranges I say. That huge stack of Uber Woolly Was some hours of my RL time.

I cracked like this - I had a 35k stack of nice Carnivore Meat. There where two good spawns going at the same time so the price wasn't going to be good. But I got it while I was really looking to get xp so I wasn't worried about making monkey. I get an offer for 20 cpu. I go to deliver it and see that she is selling cases of Bivoli for 360K each. 780 units of the very same meat I'm about to sell her. I pop off a tell and ask if this stuff is made with the same meat I'm about to sell her, yes.

I gave the whole stack to the first Novice Cheff I saw.

I am glad that us rangers are getting a boost in harvesting, now i can spend time having fun with GCW, and not be stuck hunting like a second job.

As for prices...the lower they come the better off the economy will become.

And as for the mass influx of people joining ranger....i know many people who started ranger, then quit it because they found it to "boring"....so i think that it takes a special kinda person to do ranger. With ranger we can amass great wealth..but we alctally work for it...not like a doctor who runs a macro, or a solo grouper who just mindlessly grinds through janta missions, or a resource seller, who just places harvesters and waits for the spawn to end..

Also, keep in mind that waaaay back a lot of people argued that allowing everyone in a group to harvest a corpse, instead of just one person, would flood the market with organics. This really did not happen. I don't think we can predict ahead of time what exactly will happen with the market - it depends on a lot of factors.

I am assuming you mean the new group harvesting patch and not the one that gives Master Rangers supposedly a much larger harvest since this would not apply to all rangers but obviously only to Master Rangers. The group harvesting is a nice return. It might for a short while drop some kinds of resources prices, but not over any long haul. Things always tend to even out, and just because prices would drop on resources costs doesn't mean manufactured items will also drop in price. Greed is strong force, so if you make x amount of profit now only to most people means they can make more profit at both ends.

I've lost business I'm sure because I refuse to work for less than 30cpu or so, depending on danger involved. I've lost the business of one chef I know, because she got a better deal from another ranger/scout I suppose, did her prices drop? nope. I refuse to drop mine, if I can't sell it, I store it. I have enough credits, not rich by any means, but do as I please ingame, I'm not into pvp or uber armor, I like to ranger and explore, my expenses are low.
Mostly I only hunt when I can find something with 3 good stats, recently did some single stat but it was OQ 1000 avian meat, or a guildie has a big need for something, I'll help them out.
So I doubt there will be a drop in prices, for end products anyway, ranger resources perhaps but quantity should make it back.
I used to like guiding for krayts, but the market has dried up there, common as nuna now. I try to explain to people I don't know who find out i'm a Master Ranger, "no..looking for bladeback boars and pirates for 20k in credits..is boring and work, when you do it for the 40th time." I just give them my wp's and send them on their way usually. If I'm going to work I'll go hunt something and make 500k in the same amount of time, so I charge 500k to hunt boars and pirates, they go away unhappy I suppose.
I think many long time master rangers are like me, naturally lazy =) , we work when it's interesting as opposed to getting rich. Look in the money bag see it's getting low and go hunt something. So my prices will never drop that much, cause it takes me 50 cpu before they get my attention.

I'm not too worried about the change. There aren't that many Rangers let alone Master Rangers to make that big of an impact. The only area where prices might come down some are items that take eggs to make. These are extremely plentiful now compared to before the patch. I got a stack of over 1000 tonight hunting on Tat over 4 hours. Since I'm lazy I wish we didn't have to hit the search lair multiple times on the same lair. However, thats a small price to pay for the great increase
