Thank you Calc. That's interesting to hear.

Yes very curious... Which exact things do they agree with. I would have thought that they would have already considered this.

As you point to the "Roleplaying" portion of MMORPG I think many would also point to the "Multiplayer" portion of it.

Dont' worry this isnt' a flame. I'd just say that to those who would point to the "multiplayer" portion of it, that they already have multiplayer, nothing is taking that away from them, it's upto them when and how they play.

If the devs want to do things to increase group play, then they need to address the content first, beforethe mechanics. Paks mentioned before that a possible contributing factor the trend of solo play was lack of challenging content. I think an interesting example of a direction the devs could go incomes fromPvP, wherea set of factional players attack a factional base (in a player city). To destroy the baserequires several professions to to stand a chance of making it happen, namely smugglers to be "lock picks", and *I think* commandos are required too (but I could be wrong).

Therefore, why don't they introduce content that actually utilises the diverse range of professions available to SWG players? That way, content is present that does NEED a group, because it requires so many skills to be completed. If this was done, then it wouldn't matter how buffed up you were, or how good your comp armour was, you couldn't complete the content becaue you couldnt' have all the required skills needed to complete the content.

Also I just wanted to put a humble little note to other people who have written this. Many have said that things like Krayts, Rancors, etc, should not be solo'able and should need a big group to be done. I now realise what I've been saying may have been interpreted as contradicting this. Someone else also suggested that because I just have one template that I perhaps had tunnel vision. Well perhaps that's right to a point, because there are creatures/npc's in the game which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole when I'm on my own because I know I can't beat them alone. I said before, the biggest things I've killed were Dune Kimoliga's, and thatonly started last week as coincidence would have it (but I wouldnt' call it easy, it felt more like defusing a bomb!). Having said that, all those things are present in the game, and a lone, unbuffed player can't do them.

That takes me back to calling for bringing doc buffs into line with TKA and entertainer buffs, rather than agreeing with what I imagine (in a worst case) the combat revamp will entail. Now is the right time to worry about the worst that the combat revamp will bring, because they haven't got seriously underway and JTL is out, so Combat Revamp is the next project, but there's plenty of time to voice concerns.

hopefully, the combat docs (and the revamp) will be coming soon.

right now, we're all left in a state of uncertainty, and we've all speculated and we've all imagined.

the GOOD news: the correspondents all seemed to agree that the proposed changes were a good plan. that's a landmark itself.

the BAD news: we're still waiting, hoping, and guessing. as time passes, we wait, hope for more and more, and guess more and more wildly.

basic discussions of overall game dynamics... like this one... are among the most reasonable and least crazy. we're all hoping for some kind of 'balance', despite the fact that we're all trying to agree where that balance may lie, and how we can reach it.

until we have more information... we're going to have to debate theory and philosophy, rather than 'policy' and code.

groups need love. many professions need love.

the solo player (and many professions) will likely see LESS functionality overall (solo'ing the geo caves might be a thing of the past... but that's not a BAD thing for the game overall), but there will still be viable options for solo players. farming krayts and such won't be on that list.

the combat revamp is coming, and I say: bring it on. we've got a game to improve.

I guess a Master ID/Entertainer would be considered a non-stacker... Though she spent most of her time on her back so it was more like a group of 5... and no comments from the peanut gallery!

Before I attempt to leave a comment, am I classified as being in the peanut gallery?
