Very cool book my wife got me... Great illustrations and covers several planets. It's a hardback book with a fake "Dewback" hide cover and it's written like a naturalists note/sketchbook. - Sid Meier's Pirates! 2 for PC
- Pacific Fighters combat sim for PC
- a few expansion packs for Microsoft Flight Sim 2004
- couple of PS2 games including Star Wars Battlefront
- Headphones with Mic for Teamspeak

standard rule - One in the chest, One in the head, makesyour targetdead dead dead
Double tap. The first round may have hit body armor and made them fall down due to hydrostatic shock, or surprise. The second round ensures a target kill.
The standard story of why the .45 became issue is the .38 was not powerful enough to take down the Moro tribesmen in the Phillipines. Drugged, drunk, and withtheir testicles wrapped in wet leather (which was shrinking... owie) it took a larger round to drop them. But, if I want to ensure a one shot kill,I think I would invest in a Desert Eagle .50. And then get a lifetime membership to a chiropractic clinic, take about recoil.
Also, HRT uses a .40 or 10mm last I heard.
The stuff you learn on the History Channel.
JB
i go with the civilian rule of the thumb now JB. If i need more than 7 rounds.....3 more ain't gonna help.
though honestly i've got my eye ona Styer M9. Not normally a fan of 9mm, but man, that is one comfy weapon.
As for my christmas gifts:
- Lego "Star Destroyer" (stocking stuffer)
- Lego "Lambada Shuttle" (also a stocking stuffer)
- Poker Set (including hardwood revolving poker chip holder...and some mean ass chips.)
- EastSport Carrying bag for some of my cards and other carry-arounds when i'm playing Magic or whatever.
Seems a bit short, but we're waiting for the clearance sales to begin. Gotta improvise sometimes. lol

A C Grayling "The Meaning of Things"
A collection of essays by Ayer
A collection of essays by Montaigne
Couple of local history books.
Couple of biographies of people that nobody else has heard of

)
Far too much in the way of sweets and chocolates. Though the crystalised ginger WAS lovely.
Oh, and a memory card and some lense filters for my camera...
OTOH, my lad got a Robosapien and he/I/we have been having great fun programming it to impersonate Joey from Friends.
OTOOH, I had a really nice, relaxed Chrimbo with my kids and Mrs. We even had snow on the morning of the 25th. Who could ask for more?

All this talking about guns makes me feel like this is a true ranger board
What did I get for christmas... hmmm
best wishes
return of the kingwith Mini-Tirith
the usual shirts, socks etc - what would christmas be without a grandma, who pulls out afar to large sweater -and I'm 202cm tall - it was no sweater, it was more like a HTFB roof. (and i'm sure it would rain through, too)
not to forget the "to-much-family-who-did-what-and-where-and-when-and-why-input-headache" that usually lasts until new year's eve

Sorry to be late to the party (just got back from vacation yesterday and am bored at work today)
Yes, I'm stuck at work on New Year's Eve... won't be done until an Hour into the New Year! Bah!
Now, on to the good stuff!
Return of the King Special Extended Edition, no Minas Tirith
The Art of the Incredibles Hardcover
a nice fleece pullover from the kids
some dress shirts/underwear
Logitech force-feedback joystick (don't remember which kind)
then I went out and bought myself:
The Incredibles Soundtrack
ELP Love Beach (to fill a hole in my collection)
The Who Live at the Isle of Wight DVD
Jimi Hendrix Blue Wild Angel 2 CD/DVD set (I have toexchange it, the DVD skips during Machine Gun)
and finally a Capt Antilles figure!
I found him at the Star Tours ride in DisneyLand, got him across the country w/o bending the card, went to get my
luggage, come back and oneof my kids saton himby accident!
Guess I'll try Entertainment Earth and see if they have one along with a McQuarrie ST figure...
All in all, I had a good holiday with the wife's relatives!
oh and Happy New Year!
