JB got -

More RAM, finally he upgraded to 1 Gig. After convincing the spousal unit she needed more to run her graphics card (do not tell her the card has built in RAM)

Movies

Gift cards for Home Depot and Best Buy.

JB would not like a 1911A1, he likes 9mm. Yeah yeah, 7 rounds are enough for 3 people, but what if there are lots of friends?

Oddly enough, this is the first year he did not get "Star Wars toys".

I would argue thatthe .45 would drop 7 people (but I have an 8 round clip and they go at least as high as 10). Depends on where you shoot them, I suppose.

excuse me Calc -

standard rule - One in the chest, One in the head, makesyour targetdead dead dead

Double tap. The first round may have hit body armor and made them fall down due to hydrostatic shock, or surprise. The second round ensures a target kill.

The standard story of why the .45 became issue is the .38 was not powerful enough to take down the Moro tribesmen in the Phillipines. Drugged, drunk, and withtheir testicles wrapped in wet leather (which was shrinking... owie) it took a larger round to drop them. But, if I want to ensure a one shot kill,I think I would invest in a Desert Eagle .50. And then get a lifetime membership to a chiropractic clinic, take about recoil.

Also, HRT uses a .40 or 10mm last I heard.

The stuff you learn on the History Channel.

/shifty...HRT?

Yeah, I don't think I ever want anything to do with a Desert Eagle. I'd rather have a .50 cal Sniper Rifle...then I could be far away from the action. Plus, what's that newish Grizzly Killing Revolver the have now (maybe a .50)? That monster has chambers as thick as my finger, and I have big hands...oy!

For the record, I do not own guns for self defense, but for recreational shooting. So, I guess, caliber doesn't matter (I should have gotten a .22 pistol, but the .45 was a great price, $400 new, and I already had a .22 rifle).

And I forgot you were military JB (at least I think you were)...perhaps I am out of my league arguing with you, especially since I am a n00b! I have heard (rumors, I know) that the military is leaning towards the .45 again and the police recommend .40 cal Glocks, in some cases, but those same police still prefer their 9mm Baretta's. To each his own, I guess.

I learned about the Desert Eagle .50 from the movie Snatch.
