Mineras, please reign in those who think its acceptable to use /rescue in this manner, all they will do is create an air of bad feeling between the two professions which is not needed.Thereis enough ill will floating around already, primarily aimed at SoE, as you well know. It is a bug and should not be used by anyone while they have a BH mission mark targeted.

Well said, nerfherder.

Good work keeping things civil between Rangers and BH on this one.

This could be very cool-----or very bad. Time will tell.

I just hate the idea of my BH missions no longer being safe from kill stealing.

Kill stealing sucks.

I don't know if this has been suggested already, it may have been hinted at,but why not just make rescue work on grouped members? If a BH wants to group with a ranger and go after his mark, the ranger can use the rescue command as has been discussed. This would pose little inconvenience to its use otherwise and even then you could only limit this change to non-creatures so that someone you run into, about to die from animal bites can be rescued. Issue resolved?

lol, it sounds like Rangers would do better to stay away from Bounty Hunters. They seem to get irritated really easy.

Ranger Joe says, "Hi, UberDeathSlayer <Master Bounty Hunter> Would you like to have me use my almost useless suicide skill call /Rescue to help you with your mark?"

UberDeathSlayer, "KILL STEALER !" "I will hunt you down and death blow you until you evaporate !" "My skills are the ultimate death dealing force in the universe !" "My brother Bounty Hunters will track you to the ends of the galaxy and beyond !!" " I will report you as a Kill Stealer" "DEATH TO ALL RANGERS !"

Ranger Joe responds, "Chill dude, nevermind. It was just an idea." and walks off into the wild.

ROFL!! Great Bounty Hunter impersonation Alfgand.

I would see absolutley no problem with /rescue working only on group-mates. It would suck for the random Joe out in the wilderness, but it seems to be the easiest fix for this rogue ability while still keeping it working in essentially the same manner.

"Daddy, what's that bad man doing to my (Star Wars)?"

"Son, that bad man is (SOE), and he's **edit**ing your (Star Wars)."

Alfgand,

I for one am not the least bit impressed with your BH impression. It sure as hell is not a good impression of Garand J'inn the Bounty Hunter...

Asking IS FINE. Please do. I would enjoy the opportunity for some great "Batman and Robin" mark mission tag-teaming. After all, this is an MMO.

Not asking is the problem. Sorry if some of you feel that this is an inconvenience, but sometimes being courteous is.

oh---almost forgot...

Odd...

I thought, as long as the BH got his hits in, the death of the mark completed his mission. Is this messed somehow? I know that if I have Explore missions on Tabage and I initiate combat on one, if another killes it with me even hitting it once, it gives me credit for it.

This ONLY problem here that I see is /resque on the mark. THAT will 1) means Ranger dies (dumb move)and 2) is griefing if you don't die. Now that part I THOUGHT was fixed a few patches ago (some Rangers mistakenly targeted the creature the buddy was getting hit by and then the buddy started shooting the Ranger). It's the griefing part that should be fixed, unless they can't make the PvP option work out. I'd like to have the covert thing work out. How about this: /resque only works while targeting a player (PC). Is there a stuation where this would be a problem? I can't think of a LEGITIMATE use on a NPC or creature...

But then again, I thought they had already done this...

I for one do not want help with my BH specific missions. You can ask if you want, but the answer will always be no. I have no problem reporting it as harassment if you continue past that. If you want to rescue ppl do it to people who consent to it. Xion, and the majority of the responses in the BH forum say the same thing.

stooopid typos:

Change from
"...if another killes it with me even hitting it once, it gives me credit for it."

Change to
"...if another kills it with outme even hitting it once, I still get credit for it."

I've been out in the woods for a while, so maybe I don't know the story behind this odd Ranger / BH dynamic I see here... was there a big Ranger / BH falling out?

The point of this post (I thought) was supposed to be about TEAMWORK. Have BH's been getting kills stolen so much that they are paranoid? I mean - the 2nd post of this thread started in on [paraphrase] "... /report you for harassment!!!".

It just seems to me that if I ask a BH if he wants a partner for his hunt, then I help him out. Apperantly, money isn't that good right now for BH, so maybe he wouldn't pay me for the help. He could help me out on on of my big game hunts...

If I ask another BH and he says "No thank you, I prefer to do my missions alone.", then fine. Have fun.

Common courtasy applies...only help those that ask for or accept it. And don't steal kills - it's not cool.
