Ah, the ever popular discussion of wealth. First off not all doctors or weaponsmiths are not filthy rich, peroid. That does not mean they stink. Lumping everyone in a profession into the "rich" catagory is simply a fallacy. I know many a weaponsmith who is not extremely rich and I know many a doctor who is not extremely rich. I doubt it would be hard to find armorsmithsand chefs who do not fall into the +100 million catagory.
One thing I've learned in this game is everyone thinks the grass is greener in some other profession (well except for tailors and entertainers, they are just poor 
). Those "rich" profesions point to other professions and say "look how much they make, they're rich!" and that profession says "hey, look at this other profession they make tons!" Then that profession points back at the first "rich" profession and the circle continues. The point is from the right viewpoint most professions look rich. Most have the potential to be rich. Does that mean you are rich? no.

By that definition, there are only a very few professions where many qualify in that reguard:
weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, doctors (yes, doctors), chefs. That's about it. smugglers and tailors *giggle* wow, those are two of the very poorest professions imho.
Are there any rangers that claim to be "rich" by such a standard?

Do you count assets? Last time I dragged someone through my house (someone who would easily fall into that "rich" category), they almost fell over when they saw some of the stuff I had lying around. And that was before I mentioned that all the pets in there were pre patch BE (i.e. bugged to CL 1). Well, all but the rancor now (I couldn't refuse my friend, they just wanted it too much, even if I didn't charge them anything). But my bank account is definately not in the 100 million range and I haven't spent that much since the game came out (the stuff in my house is my own collection, not stuff that I've bought or been given).
