On issue 1 instead of requesting range and melee Creature to hit bonus, I suggest "Range Creature to hit bonus" and "Melee Creature toDodge bonus".

1. I agree that with the new changes to maskscent and conceal that crawling will play a bigger role. On a personal note since I am a ranged combatant crawling will assist me even more. I'm Novice CH as well and crawled into a mottled wrix lair to tame a normal wrix while /maskscented.

2. While the new traps are going to be great what about our current traps that we currently have in the ranger line that don't work. I don't want to lose these traps before we even have a chance to play with them. The description of the traps have the potential to make them very powerful. Especially the Sonic Pulse which has an AOE dizzy. For those of you who don't know dizzy is a very powerful effect. If anything tries to perform a posture change while dizzy they fall down (because they are dizzy). They don't go prone they fall down so it's a knockdown. As a carbineer I can use actionshot2 to force them to kneel then throw a sonic pulse to dizzy them. When they try to stand back up they fall. I would hope our current traps will be fixed and available to us before the new stuff comes in. In other words I hope they don't go away before we have a chance to use them. I can't remember exactly if the old ranger traps will go away (not off the top of my head anyway). However regardless of the fact I would still like them to work.

"I don't really even know what the to-hit bonus does."

I think it increases your accuracy while shooting. It reduces the chance of getting the "You missed so and so" message.

If you are running, your accuracy will reduce.

If you are prone, your accuracy will increase.

This skillmod is trying to compensate for ranged fighters who need to keep away from their opponents via running. As for melee fighters, once you reach maximum level, this skillmodwill havevery little usefullness.

My concerns:

But first someone mentioned that they did not see an effect from bf. Because of extended hunting trips in the field I routinely end up with bf above 300, it slows the rate at which you heal very dramatically. Time how long it takes you to heal in camp with a high bf versus a 0 bf and you will see the impact. Eventually I just have to come into town to heal bf to keep from wasting a ton of time sitting in camp waiting for damage/wounds to heal.

My concerns for the top 5:

1. Camp breaking during combat, persistant field bases, and all recommendations along this line.

2. Foraging, I currently forage to feed my pet, for bait to fish, etc. In other threads targeted foraging has beenmentioned: Search for bait, search for food, search for cool rare stuff. This dimension of the ranger class could be a lot more fun and is high priority for me.

3. The examine skill as has been mentioned repeatedly, bones? and I supportthe suggestions by others. (oh btw... I have noticed definitively now that creatures go skinny in a resource exactly at the time that the resource changes. So as soon as I get a skinny harvest I immediately check the stats on the new material... and I don't bother checking at any other time cause it will be the same as my previous harvests... if you didn't know this then check it out, I think you will find my hypothesis always holds)

4. Battle fatigue, In advanced modular camps with an entertainer required, I support some field bf healing but only at the highest levels to protect our entertainer professions... in another thread someone suggested a trickle of bf healing while fishing... I like that idea too. It has some realism and lets face it fishing even with the star rating system has little to offer in the way of fun or profit at the moment.

beyond ranger issue: rubber banding is very annoying and ruins gameplay, I would hope a team is working on this one as a priority.

previously but no longer on my top list:

Ranger harvest, I would love to see us get a higher quality harvest to distinguish us from scouts further, but I doubt the resource system of swg will easily allow for it. And I am mindful of the poster who questions how we can justify it since the animals we hunt are the same as the ones the scouts hunt, AND I am mindful of other posters who have mentioned that the act of skinning and tanning should produce a higher quality for a ranger... its a good debate. Perhaps an increase in quantity would do the trick. If however tracking is implemented then we should be able to findmore and better hides by finding the right animals to kill quickly... so this will cease to be a concern when tracking is implemented.

Thanks for listening...

Off topic.. but...

What does a Ranger need with a House???

OBVIOUSLY you've never been to Zarn's house of tents

Seriously.. I sleep in my tent even inside my house... I just drop it on the floor and sleep in there..

For real... all rangers need a house to put some tents in.. it looks like REI inside hehehe

"4. Battle fatigue, In advanced modular camps with an entertainer required"

Just want to reinterate, that I am all for BF healing as long as the Entertainer is of a certain skill level.

Please no suggestions that Novice Entertainers should be able to heal BF in a high level camp. That would be absolutely distastrous for the cantina scene.

XionLion,

I scorned houses at first since I was roleplaying and a ranger couldn't possibly want to live in a house. But then I discovered how useful one could be for a ranger. I live on Rori with only two cities and I spend my time far from either. My favorite hunting grounds are as far from the two cities as imaginable. I placed my house so far in the boonies it is crazy, only once has anybody stumbled across it and that was dumb luck I am sure.

The house servesas a great fieldbase of operation. Since I kept novice entertainer I can go to my house and play my horn andrepair that 300 bf I was describing in my last post without having to run back to town. That is worth alot to me! I also fill it with foraged stuff, hides, bone, and even some resources (I still have survey 1 and I occasionally use the dang machines to harvest polymer for traps or metal... and other junk.)

I could easily live in a camp since Istoragemostlyjunk... but the bf healing far from town is worth every penny invested in the house. So what about the roleplaying? Well, I do love the wilderness but I use all sorts of modern stuff... so I can't claim complete disdain for houses and modern stuff, I never sleep there but only in camps, I just use it for relaxing and mind healing... so I can avoid the cities that much longer. If a camp could provide some level of bf healing then I would forgo the house for sure.

Oh and I sure want to emphasize here that since bf CAN be healed in houses by novice entertainers, and houses can be placed almost anywhere, that the high end entertainer profession is already in trouble and may need some other dependancies built into the game. I don't want the ranger profession to result in the complete demise of entertainers so I am all for restrictions to high end rangers and/or high end entertainers to keep them solvent.

When I do go to town I always visit the master entertainers and I always tip very very high... here's hoping that others do as well.

Totally agreed.

"houses can be placed almost anywhere"

Its the "almost anywhere" that makes camps very useful on the high level planets where housesCAN'T be built. In this case it would be nice that someone who spent the points in Musician or Dancer can aid the hunting group.

Musicians and Dancers willing to group for high level content hunting would be considered Gods in my mind, and showered praise and goodies.

I think entertainers would be happy if they could heal mind and BF in camps. It would give them a way to get out of the dark, stale cantinas and into the sunlight.

Also when will forage bug be fixed and when can we use traps on faction pets? The latter is a particular concern.

I still have to keep arguing that if all 6 master rangers on Ahazi,or even all of the noviceRangerscan self-heal battle fatigue while sitting in theircamp or while fishing, the entertainer community isn't go to go bust, and entertainer-onlyhealing for non-wilderness types could only help the entertainer industry. That's a lot of skill-points to invest just to be able to heal battle fatigue without an entertainer (of which there are rarely any on Lok or Dantthe hours I play). I wouldn't go so far as to say it should require a master entertainer though, entertainer was thesecond novice profession I gave up on my way to master ranger right after brawler. Medic came third, and I'm considering letting go of artisan for more in the rifleman line. Maybe using the holo-board or whatever game table that is would be required for BF heal, but then again, what's that satellite dish for? I thought it was so I could get the discovery channel and learn the latest news about that bolle bol I'm about to go after while letting my fatigue go down

1.) I would like to see an increase in Creature To-Hit bonus (Ranged and Melee alike). As it is now, I cannot see a difference in my ability to hit Creatures and Humanoid NPCs

2.) I would like to see redeedable cabins/hunting lodges for Master Rangers. These could provide Battle Fatigue healing just as other player houses do. They would essentially be an extra-small, low item capacity, low maintainance, planet specific house.

3.) I would like Social, Stalking, and Bone information added to /examine.

4.) I would like Organics Harvester type traps.
