Indeed. I think this is something that needs to be answered for the entire community.

My second choice would be the spawning limit question.

One other question.

Why has Jedi had 2 massive patches devoted toit who are (in most cases) powergamers, the type of players SWG Devs said they did not wantprimarelysatisfy?

Why has the majority (non-jedi) population remained in second place to a minority (or in jedi vs ranger, a majority hehe)?

I think we share the same Dev with 1 or 2 other professions or something. Not that I think it's right or justified, but the reason we're not getting any "love" is because that one person has been devoted to the other professions so far.....

....I think it's pistoleer that we share the dev with.......please don't flame me, haven't had caffeine as yet.....

Anyway, pistoleer (if that's the one) is going to get reworked, and even then that won't happen until after JTL comes out. So that puts us at somewhere around Christmas, to even lend thought to being given a second glance.

IMO, I think that once JTL comes out, all the devs will be put to working on the JTL bugs, so everything will be pushed around again. I love the idea of a ranger, but I had to give it up. I'm not going to hold onto something that barely works, or basically doesn't draw level to the other professions out there enough to make it useful.

Well, not that I disagree with you that we could use a boost in harvesting, your arguement for it is a bit thin. Yes, a scout with a droid and veghash can harvest as much as me, but I too can use a droid and veghash and harvest more than them. The better arguement is that an uber template with novice scout can harvest more per hour than I can because while they harvest less per kill, they can kill way more in an hour than I can thus bringing in more resources over time.

And besides that, this is the wrong thread for your post. this is for questions you want asked of the devs. The other thread is where you post for what you want changed.

Not found the droid usefull as Ranger. Very usefull as scout. For some reason the higher up you go, the less the bonus matters and it's just plane faster doing it yourself.

I think pistoleer is in bad need of some dev love, just like us. Some pistoleers ARE us.

We were promised new changes back in Sept 03. These included new traps, fixing of bugs in camps and the track command as well as area track. To this date we have only gotten area track and some of the problems with camps fixed. I believe is was Green Marine that was doing the fixes for Ranger at that time and I understand that he has moved up in the company. He had stated that the traps were ready for testing as well asthe/track command. They were ready and were supposed to go to test center after player cities and mounts/vehicles and never did. Why is it taking almosta whole year to implement ranger fixes that just need to be tested. WHY!!!??

I guess I should go a bit further. This guy, our dev, who (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) we seem to be "sharing" other professions with, is only one guy. At the same time, he's not the head of the company, so he follows orders just like everyone else with a job. That being said, I'd assume he's only working on one or two things at once, which is whatever he's told to do. And let's say those things are Pistoleer, and JTL, whatever.....i.e. not ranger.

Sad but true?

If you look at the pistoleer forum, you'll see that they're up in arms WAY more than the rangers are, and they've been ignored about the same time as us. Even if he did have power to choose what next he works on, he simply chose Pistoleer over Ranger. And even then, they won't get any reworking after JTL. Again, I'm not saying it's cool, or I'm glad we're being left alone, but hey, it's just one guy, just doing his job as best he can. Yeah, I wish we had our own dev too, but I can't pay for one to be hired.

No, I'm not a fanboy, and here's my bottom line:

SWG is a business, plain and simple. From that angle, you can see that they're more interested in pulling in new players than keeping the current ones happy. To that end, you can THEN see why they're putting devs to work on a game that nobody's playing yet (JTL), andreworking a profession (Jedi) that the majority of the population won't get to, instead of fixing what they've done wrong, or incompletely. JTL and Jedi are the moneymakers here, not phencanine darts or fanshots.

But hey, look at it this way - we might get a nice Xmas present. Maybe we'll be fixed then?
