<snip>

An improper question would be:

WIll the Rangers ever get creature defense mods (I want to reserve these kinds of questionsfor the suggestions thread, as I am certain I can prevent the items in that thread to the devs...)?

Please let me know if i need to clarify, and please keep this on topic .

Freudian slip? or did I misunderstand you?

I have always believed the GCW should be the centerpiece jewel of this software title, and that the professions and their associated skill trees should be derived from the needs of the GCW. Do it the other way around, (willy-nilly professions design& Combat balance first) and you risk supplying the classes (includingmy beloved Ranger)with what can become obsolete skills-- and in fact I would argue that this is in fact what has happened to us Rangers already. Now having said that, my question(s) would be:

"With respect to next year's development efforts, do you plan to design the GCW first and then DERIVE the profession skill updates as a result? If so, will you be defining a mission statement for each class that will carve a unique niche, not to be encroached upon by the other classes, and that will guide you in future profession changes?" If not, why not?

Now, I know we had some "mission statement" before as the ultimate creature hunter (or something similar) but the problemwas that in a game where there was nothing else to do but hunt, that distinction meant nothing for thenon-combat ranger class. If you can get thisquestion asked, try to probeformore than a patanswer, or a mere "yes" or "no". What I'm really trying to do is get at the design philosphy beind employed for the professions.

Are the devs aware of the fact that some creatures don't have bones, or that some creatures which aren't reptile-like provide reptile meat, or creatures that look wooly give leathery hide etc.? Will they eventually look into this and balance it out so that creatures provide the organics that seem to be logical?

A minor question, but something that has always bugged me. I'm sure there'll be more to come as I think of them.

When is the plan for implementing the change in camps that they promised us almost a year ago going to go into effect?

Is the harvesting code working as intended? (I tend to harvest only about 30% more then my novice scout friend, for example)

Is the camo code working as intended and does it camoflage from npc's as well? (I tend to get it broken more then my mask scent)

What is the benifit of master Ranger? (not talking a RP aspect, I mean in the actual number crunching of the game)

Why is there a +5 to camp in master Ranger? (since we get all our camps by camping 4 this seems pointless)

Holy Hyperdrive, I trippled posted and didn't get the final version even in here. Man the forums have been kicking my arse all day. /sigh Lithium sux. Now lets see if I can remember what I posted a few hours ago.

1. what is the devs "current" vision of the ranger. We were once told we are to be masters of the hunt and the wilds. But we now are one of few professions to wear mandolorian armor. Are the devs vision of ranger changing? Are we to be creatures only, creatures and the wilds, masters of the wilds no matter whats in it, npc or animal? what?

2. Why was ranger left hanging after the "start" of some development, and now we are feel as though we are at the bottom of the list? We never got the first job finished TWICE. According to Greenmarine and Holocron, we were not finished before launch. We started to get some development based on that, and it stopped before even finishing the things "promised" by Holocron. Thus we didn't get finished TWICE.

3. What is the priority for orginal "launched" content for SOE? Where on the project list does fixing/revamping orginal content fall, compared to new content such as dungeons and JTL?

What's the Lecepanine Dart trap for? I know it's a scout trap but it's still one of our skills.

Since traps *only* work on creatures and this trap *only* produces a dizzy status effect and dizzy does *not* work on creature NPCs it doesn't seem to have any purpose. Is it just a relic of an older conception of how traps work or is the effect on creatures bugged?

Notice this issue also affects our Sonic Pulse trap which *is* a Ranger only trap but since the Ranger version also does a secondary status effect it still retains at least the illusion of usefulness.

Why hasn't our foraged food been changed over to the new buff system? I wouldn't try to argue for new foods, only the same foods re-implemented under the new system. We don't even get a buff timer or a filling attribute listed for the foods we can forage.

They're crap but it'll be easier to convince people to do something about it if they're directly comparable to other forms of food buffs.

1)Why was Master Ranger chosen as one of the only three professions that can wear Mandalorian armor? I'm not complaining, I was just curious as to why. It doesn't really fit our current position in the GCW or our abilities in PVP.

How about:

Background:

A long time ago Holocron detailed how severly 'un-unique' ranger's wereand proposed some potential changes to solve this very important issue.Since that time our changeswere put on hold due to other major developments such as players cities and vehicles. However since these features have been implemented we have not had our changes put back into development. We remain an un-unique class, a semi-completed class that is still waiting for the changes that should have come so long ago.

Our changes have been put off for so long and now it seems we have been 'skipped' past and cast to the back of the que,

Question:

what can be done to rectify this problem?

3rd: While it is against the developer's vision to have the toughest creatures, like a krayt, soloable, how can Rangers become effective because of ranger, rather than in spite of it?

4th: When most players in the game realize that im a ranger, they do not think of me as a hunter, they think of me as a provider of materials, which is the antithesis of why I wanted to be a ranger. How can Rangers in SWG balance out their interdependance with the community, yet simultaneously retain their independance and freedom to explore and hunt effectively alone.

5th: If the devs wanted to be an effective hunter, would they take any of the skills other than tracking?

Absolutely awesome.

Ok real simple and this is not sarcastic.

I have used 140 kill points to become a MASTER RANGER! For this Iget:

CAMPS

Healing - Medical droids

I have used 140 kill points to become a MASTER RANGER! For this Iget:

CAMPS

- with other publishes it makes them useless. No longer needed for vehicles or creatures. Droids take away the need for the healing modifier and crafting stations.

HARVESTING

- with droids and HUNTING 4 and VEGASH we really dont benifit. Now anyone can get just as much as we do!

TRACKING

- well it doesnt work or there isnt anything to track due to server population limits.

TRAPS

- they dont work plain and simple. Not powerful enough IMO!

CAMO/MASK SCENT

- Well probably the best of all of them, but it is iffy at best.

Well with out seeming all negative there has been many ideas and fixes for all of these implied on the RANGER forums. My final question is what do you see as DEVS the reason for becoming a RANGER and if you cant answer that what plans do you have to make it worth 140 skill points.

Now for the funny part. Just for us to read!!

I have wasted 140 skill points and missed supper for 7 months of my life to become an overated BOY SCOUT with a BIC LIGHTER and SWISS ARMY KNIFE!
