I started as a Scout on July 5th 2003 and Hit Novice Ranger in Augustish. I mastered Ranger in October; shortly after the XP changes.

Made it about a month ago. I love the feeling of not having to rely on anyone and living off the land. Prolly master it within one to two weeks, at the rate I'm currently playing. Plan to keep it while mastering other professions.

I made Novice in the last week of August last year. Got deployed for a month. Home for 3 weeks, got deployed again until the first week of December, finally Master Ranger sometime mid to late December. Picked up Master Rifleman not long after that. Have never dropped a Ranger box, just started dropping rifleman for CH.

Well ... let's see ... if Tibli has hit a year ... and I trained him ... I guess that puts me at about September 03. Wow that is a long time to be a hermit ... er ... I mean Master Ranger.
You would think I would know more people by now *smile*

Scout on Day 2 (Day 1 was the Great Server Event None Shall Ever Foreget)
Novice Ranger 3 weeks later
Master Ranger one month later
Master Rifleman 4 months after that.... Yes, in those days there was something harder to do then Survival Experience.

That was the most trying of times getting into game on Day 1 and 2.
Thank god they fixed that a week later

I have been a ranger for 6 months. I stumbled into the profession and have never found my way out. It was my first elite profession and it will be the last i drop.

Hmm, let's see. Avoided the game 'cause I KNEW I'd get sucked in for about a year or more, finally started playing in August. Scout that day, mastered Scout maybe a month to a month and a half later, and the next day got Novice Ranger. Been working my way thru the Ranger trees for the last few months now, I'm slowly working my way up Wayfaring as I do a bunch of other stuff (get badges, help even newer newbies learn to fish, throw traps, camp, hunt, get milk and fish and eggs for my BE and Chef buddies, etc). Loving every minute of it, and I guess I sort of mimic Fred's path in that I'm actually much closer to mastering Ranger than I am Rifleman in the same amount of time. I found it immensely easy and fun to go out, kill stuff or run up another box in trapping, then throw down camps to craft my lil fingers to the bone making more wire mesh traps. Rinse, repeat. 2-4-4-4 Ranger and 2-1-0-1 Rifles in the same amount of time.... go figure.
I imagine I'll be ready for Master Ranger sometime in the next month... or two... but hey, what's the rush. I've still got 1 POI badge to get on Tatooine (Fort Tusken) and one entire planet I've not yet visited (Dathomir) so there's a bunch more badges I want, and a bunch of side quests I'm having fun with. I simply don't understand the "Gotta do it in a day" rush rush rush mentality for many folks. Of course, I'm also just as likley to walk than ride my X34 or Swoop anywhere, and only really ride those when I'm doing stuff in a group and the others need me to "keep up", or when I HAVE to get somewhere quick (to train someone or something)... and only until the CH in my guild gets to the point where he can train up a nice mount that my guild BE is making me, after which I doubt very much I'll be doing anything other than riding a mount.
