What a bunch of whining. If you don't like it, don't do it. If you don't need the better camps, just ignore it. Big deal, Master Ranger doesn't give you much of a bonus anyway.

I've had good survival progression so far without ever once plopping down a camp for no reason other than XP. As I do missions, I tell the doc to hold off on heals unless it's an emergency, and after about two missions, we're ready for a camp. I drop a HQ camp down, we heal up the pets and ourselves, wait on mind to come back, maybe forage some, and in less than ten minutes we're good to go and I got full XP for the camp. I do this nightly, probably 3 or 4 times. Plenty of XP.

Agreed. I'll be 4-1-4-4 myself very soon (from playing, not grinding) and then will be faced with an inevitable grind-athon to reach master since doing it "naturally" with my play style will likely take 3-4 months or more just to get survival maxed. No other choice.

I'm sorry to be so rude or blunt, but if you need 10 minutes to med, your group suck. It takes about 30 sec for our doctor to heal us up.

Yes, that was a whine on my part. Because i'm NOT a grinder. I like to play the game. I leveled all my skill naturaly, by playing the game. That's how it was intended. You are suppose to level just by playing your style.

I'm sorry, but in our actual game play, camps are not that usefull, at least not for very long, usually under 1 minute.

I wanted the Master title for the defense bonus, and mostly for the Dathomir kit, so i had to grind it, and it was awefull. I'm Master now, hope to keep it although i'm running out of skill points, and i gota say, of all the skills and exp i got in my life, survival is the worst.

Even at scout level, most get 4-0-4-0 just playing, then 4-4-4-0 after throwing traps for an hour, and then uhg, camp time. /bah

I've actually been doing some fishing lately. There has been phenominal fish meat on Dant (Bria) lately and my bio engineer alt loves the fish for pet stims. The problem though is that even after I feel that I've gotten fairly efficient at fishing, it's still a really terrible way to get survival xp. You seem to get on the average about 100xp per catch which for me equates to maybe 3-4k of xp/hour of gameplay, and that's a fairly generous estimate. In my experience that is less xp then you get for sitting in a camp doing absolutely nothing. Oy! That's not good.

I don't know if anyone else has posted this because I'm too tired to read the two pages so please forgive me. I just wanted to point out that while if you set up a macro to get your frontiering xp just be forwarned that if you let your camp auto disband you run the risk of occationally *LOSING* wilderness survival xp. I wanted to try this out last night just to see how well it worked and when I scrolled back up through my chat log two times out of my 6 camps it said I lost about 480 wilderness survival xp.

If it's so boring, why don't you spend your time fighting, then take all that money and buy resources? You get 100XP making a HQ camp kit. Just grind through it in practice mode via a macro, like artisans do.

Heh, the first branch I mastered was frontiering. I wear that fortiersman title with pride. I didn't find it to be long and painful. I rather enjoyed it.

How do you fish? I know the basics, stand in water, cast the line, but what do I do after that?
