Thread: An Analysis of Thunderheart's Ranger Question Response

The numerical answers from CoH were just an example.
Any significant effort to respond would be welcomed if it was maintained. We have heard tale of improvements many times and the information flow only decreases with time. Until that becomes a given, people will always jump over any dev comment because that is the only scrap we're given.
Even you did it, Nemo. Sure you put a positive spin on it, but you deconstructed TH's post sentance by sentance. It shows you're trying to get that scrap of info, the hidden tidbit, as badly as the rest of us.
More communication is needed.
I agree that the Devs could do with giving us a bit more info. But I think the Devs have been doing a good job developing the game. And, while the communication is limited, there is some (I would argue that there is quite a bit). The Devs are not required to do that. As for deconstructing THs post, a big part of that was to try and point out to the community that it is not necessarily telling us nothing. What is TH really saying? I have no clue. But we shouldn't just stop trying to come up with new ideas. This community is fun to be a part of. Whether or not anything comes of it I don't think I am wasting my time (at least not anymore than I am by sitting in front of a computer playing any game). Would I prefer some of our ideas to be used? Definately. But I still can enjoy coming up with stuff that never will be done. Just like I can still enjoy playing this game as it currently stands.

I'll offer that you could be a scout and not notice any difference.

For me, the deficiencies of the Ranger class don't seem very big. I mean, I know they're there, but I can work around them so that I don't really notice. For example, I use camps and my novice medic skillto heal myself instead of going to a hospital. Whenever I decide to use traps, they work for the most part. My maskscent doesn't break too often (even against kreetles it holds up very well). And I only hunt to harvest whenI feel like it.
Don't get me wrong, I really would like to see some new stuff for Ranger, specifically with camps and camo. but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for it.
Nemo, I'm grateful to you for breaking down TH's answer sentence by sentence, and you have lifted my spirits about the future. But I plan on continuing as I always have: continuing to level as a ranger and a fencer, not expecting anything, and then being pleasantly surprised when something is added for us. That way, I can't be dissapointed if we don't get anything.
I am looking forward to the CB, though, for rangers and fencers. I do see good things for us in that.
